Ciari Ascender Standard, the world’s first folding electric guitar “that you can take anywhere”

Ciari first wowed the guitar universe back in 2019 with its Ascender – the world’s first, and only, patented full-size professional-grade folding electric guitar.
Yes, we said “folding guitar.”
Now, the company has done it again with the Ascender Standard, an updated, more affordable version of the revolutionary portable design. And by portable, we mean portable: Not only does the guitar fit in a tidy backpack, “but what’s cool is the Ascender qualifies as a personal item and fits under airline seats,” Guitar World Tech Editor Paul Riario points out.

  • A marvelous feat of design and engineering. Now, please do the same thing to a short scale bass guitar.

  • Looks a bit like if gibson re-made the jazzmaster. And made it foldable. I like how it’s a niche guitar with a gimmick yet it has pro features.

  • Taking the same concept and applying it to a more jazzmaster-shaped body with an evertune and a baritone neck would be insane lmao

  • It's unreal for me to think that I played the very guitar featured in this video just a couple of hours ago

  • Definitely the best innovative product in early 2020s … My favourite innovation since evertune. I hope I can buy this in the future.

  • Well, not a new concept but this might be refined and functional. I guess useful to some. What I find disappointing is the look of it… its a mash between a Fender a Gibson and a Yamaha… ugly as hell and boring, I think. And if you go an explore an alternative concept an alternative shape, original – dare I say – should be a must. I wouldn't mind the idea of it, but the look is just awful, has no character and does not suit the typology, in my opinion. Why not go all the way and create a truly revolutionary instrument?…. it's a missed opportunity and a lack of understanding.
Making guitars is one thing, comprehending design process and being able to design a interesting product….its quite another.
Peace and love and whatever you like to play… keep playing it!

  • It's not the first one I see. Maybe the first that would be sold widely in music stores, which explains why this one it's here?

  • Well, there should be a reason why no other manufacturer gone that way and make a foldable guitar…
