  • this hd 28 seems to be a md 28…look at the top… the hd has the tinted top, md is pale, like this guitar you're featuring…????

  • B and D were my favs. I have an HD 28, first Martin I bought. Perhaps the best all around guitar I own, easiest to play, full sound. I keep it in standard tuning, Guild D55 in double dropped D, a canon, D42 in Palmer tuning for stills tunes, Taylor 813CE for LZ The rain Song, some strange G modal tuning I’ve never found another song in this tuning.

  • I think these kinds of comparisons between guitars of the same make and nearly the same specs has very little usefulness. Every individual acoustic guitar has traits each thier own. So the "best" sounding one in this video may not be the model that sounds best if you swap them all out for different guitars of the same models.
In other words, when you find that amazing sounding guitar that sounds like one in a million, keep it. Even if the brand and model isnt exactly your "dream guitar". Youll be happier, and if you dont keep it you'll probably find yourself chasing guitars around hoping to hit the jackpot and find another "snowflake" lol.

  • Yep Martins are great guitars. However this is simply BS on vintage sound…They have what should be called a new world sound!Which is great.but not even close to the dark sounding Beautiful org..hands down…… I can prove it…. Where’s your vintage to compare.haha you know the sound is completely different.come on…

  • B and D were my favorites but I’m a bluegrasser so that shouldn’t be a surprise. The rosewood Eastmans with the addi top could get you near that sound if you can find a good one.

  • I’ve played a few d28’s at my local music store. The standard d28 sounded okay to me. However, I really liked a couple of hd28 guitars I’ve played because of the slight extra bass. I do not like the delux d28 at all. The liquid metal bridge pins give the guitar a metalic sound I personally don’t care for. I’ve got a yamaha fg830 CE with a new bone nut and saddle and new elixir medium gage phosphor bronze 1356 gage strings that will have to do for a d28 substitute. D28’s are some awesome guitars.

  • Please compare a D28 Standard vs D18 Standard. Would love to hear an Acoustic Shoppe version of the two guitars!!!

  • The two satins were standouts, but B was above them. Which makes sense, after seeing what model it was.

  • I skipped D 28 but before that I was decided to get a Taylor’s builders dread Pacifica but it was a big disappointment ( I couldn’t tune it that omg…some kind of agent I felt was encouraging me in a subtle way to keep the Taylor…I had been iffy on it since but with some exceptions)…going back to Martin, i settled on OM 28 y had it set up before shipping…not perfect but I am not perfect ????; the prodding guy was surprised when I told him that I did order it…we jammed as I play some chordal stuff y he was a pro instrumentalist but he praised the piece not my voice that I did…

  • I like to b in the E in the blind test–
I play a 72D 28 which we had to refinish as the original owner stripped off the finished 26 years ago. I had it refinished with aged toner v????vintage lacquer color.
I just reset had the neck a month ago.. 25 years ago right after I had completely refinished by a master Luther.. I had it in a gig bag, and I was pulling it out of my car before a gig. It slid off the seat, dropped it on the curb, but I broke the top in three places it's been cleated and I've been playing it since.

  • Would a Custom Shop D28 with most Authentic specifications (modified low oval neck, truss rod) cost less?

  • I played an Authentic Guatemala D-28 and liked it a lot. My friend also had a D-28 custom shop expert 1937 non aged which I prefered soundwise.
In your recordings I like the HD-28 the most.
In real playing Situation I probably would prefer the roaring, barking, growling Sound and body resonance of the Authentic.
    Thanks and cheers.

  • B sounds good before I find out the reveal. No wonder I liked it. The most expensive one. Sure stood out!

  • Not to be critical because these videos provide a lot of information to consumers but is there really any value in comparing a satin and street legend? Aren’t they essentially the same? Isn’t there a Modern Deluxe that could have been part of the comparison?
