I just need help on what note you're playing
Mille merci.
Quiet nights of quiet stars
Quiet chords from my guitar
Floating on the silence that surrounds us
Quiet thoughts and quiet dreams
Quiet walks by quiet streams
And a window that looks out on Corcovado
Oh, how lovely
This is where I want to be
Here with you so close to me
Until the final flicker of life's ember.
I who was lost and lonely believing life was only
A bitter tragic joke, have found with you,
The meaning of existence, oh my love.

Beautiful chord voicings. Mahalo's for this lesson and for the great channel. One of my favorite classical guitar pieces, "Fantasia Sonata", by Joan Manen, uses these evocative chords voicings to great effect. After a career as a classical player, I've just been picked up by a booking agency in my state as a vocalist/guitarist and I found that people, (including myself), love Bossa Nova songs. This channel is going to be a great resource. Mahalo and aloha.
Thank you
Great, to-the-point. clear lesson!
My friend went to a conference in Brazil and when she came back we listened to some Brazilian music and found this incredible song. It's so pretty. Your video makes it incredibly clear how to play this song and I am now starting to play some of the most complicated guitar I ever played. Thank you so much!
Great lessons, obrigado! Gonna donate!
Hi, I can't figure out the Gdim chord. How are the fingers placed on the third fret? This is an excellent tutorial though. Thank you!!
I like how the chord changes on the last beat. Very unusual
1:10 intro
1:29 1st v
1:57 2nd v
2:29 3rd v
If you play this rhythm with the original recording it's just spot on
It took me a few months but I have learned enough chord shapes to go on to lesson 2! I hope one day to be able to perform bossa nova guitar as a side gig like I already do with jazz piano.
Beautifull

Love this video. Thank you for this content it has really inspired me! Trying to take guitar seriously after a few months and your videos have lightened the spark that was missing for that magical moment of being in the present and living the music
Here is a google sheets I made with all the chords in order. It doesn't have the rhythms, but it is useful for learning the chords. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vRcBw71DtLl7a5yrRb5L5-FZxI7s8k4bZz_Fn_uyAxyDzMab7aZk-d4ggDzKvzeW9L_rpqOuWTjTXBf/pubhtml

Please tell me How and to whom if not Patreon
Excellent presentation thank you, but whole thing needs to be slowed down, then finished at correct speed. Can be emulated but with A Lot of Work.
Your lessons are just Fantastic. Thank you
Could you explain how to use the numbers of the rythmic phrases 1212, 1213, 4444 etc…?
It must have to do with the fingers of the right hand but how to use it ?
Thank’s again for the quality of your teaching.

The intro of the song really reminds me of the song 'Carta Ao Tom 74'
Hermoso
This was very quick and easy thank you so much, learned it over 2 days
Amo o jeito que você toca, Faz parecer fácil e isso me encoraja a tentar e tentar!
????
Very helpful lesson, thank you!
Wich guitar do you used for it?
Eu tenho uma dúvida, eu peguei o ritmo agora porém quando eu fui dormir meus dedos estavam doloridos
Isso é normal?
can anyone tell me why the root of G13/-9 is G# instead of G
Thank you. Very generous
DONDE PUEDO VER A ALGUIEN QUE TOQUE CORCOVADO??? HASTA AHORA VA CERO AL BOLETIN.
Thanks for share. https://youtu.be/5BfV185Txvg this is my performance, I have learned a lot with this channel.
Brilliant lesson – thanks for taking the time to set it out !
Do you mute the strings with three (i,m,a) or four (p,i,m,a) fingers of your right hand when you play the chords staccato??
Muito bom, show! Obrigado ????????????????????????????????
En que afinación está la guitarra?
Obrigado. Delicia passear sobre as notas mantendo esse ritmo maravilhoso da bossa … viva tom viva Brasil !!!
holy shit man this is the perfect guitar lesson format, you win the internet
Thank you so much. I´m leaning so much with your classes. At 1:26, wouldn´t be a G#13/9 instead a G13/9 ?
Guitar?
Clássico incrível do Tom Jobim!!!
My Bossa finally sounds a litlle better by watching your videos. Thanks. Would you encourage to paratice also around 1st position for the bar em7/5 ||| a7#5 ||| dm7 F9/G ||| etc That would imply playing some on the chords with a bass on 4th string but less movement on the neck so more fluid. Also i saw in the Bossa Book that these chords were recommended but until i played on a classical guitar, the sound was not good. Cheers
