Cort AC100 Guitar Review Fingerstyle Tested | In-Depth Review With HQ Close Up’s
This is my honest Cort AC100 review. Is it one of the best classical guitars for beginners? I know this guitar for about two years already ( It belongs to one of my students). For this guitar review and demo video, I spent two weeks playing it and enjoyed playing this nylon strings guitar.
If you want to learn how to play guitar, you probably ( and should ) look for the best cheap guitar for the price you are willing to pay before you know if this guitar journey is for you at all.
► Who is Cort AC100 for?
– A beginner guitar student who wants to play classical guitar music.
– An advanced or professional acoustic or electric guitar play who wants to add some mellow Spanish classical guitar timbre to his guitar composition ( In this case, I would recommend playing the Cort AC100 mostly as chords accompaniment.
– Looking for a hybrid nylon string guitar that can fit classical guitar music and Spanish/Flamenco music.
– If you mainly want to learn and play Flamenco music, consider lowering the action since it has a perfect and standard classical guitar action, which is higher then the average Flamenco guitar action. If you do so, you’ll get the percussive sound that characterizes a Flamenco guitar.
► Cort AC 100 PROS:
– Light-weighted and it’s noticeable. Great for carrying it out.
– A natural and raw look and feel. WATCH THE CLOSE-UPS OF THE WOOD at 0:20 .
– The overall sounds of high and low notes are well balanced.
– The tuning pegs machine turns smoothly.
► Cort AC 100 CONS:
– You get reasonable present high notes sound rather than thick ones. It subjective, but for me, under this price tag, it’s just fine. Listen to the higher notes part from at 1:30.
– Comes with Savarez Savarez Cristal Corum 500CJ high-tension strings. It doesn’t do justice to the guitar. I would recommend D’Addario or Hannabach’s normal/high tension strings to get a richer sound out of the Cort AC100.
This cheap guitar ( 130 $) is an excellent value for the money if you are looking for an affordable nylon-string without breaking the bank. It a starter guitar, and I know that Cort guitar can offer you even more expansive and better guitars because, for me, the Cort brand is one of the most underrated guitar companies, unlike Yamaha, Fender, etc.
I recorded the guitar ( with the Audio Technica at2020 condenser mic) playing the famous romance because of the range of the notes of this guitar compositions is almost all over the fretboard ( the hight note is the 12th fret, and the lower note is the open 6th string).
For me, it’s the equivalent to the Yamaha C40 model:
Other good options are for cheap classical guitar ( under 150$):
Yamaha C40II, Washburn C5CE, Ibanez GA3, Cordoba CP100 Guitar Pack, Squier SA-150N.

FAQ:
►Is classical guitar good for a beginner?
An acoustic guitar can be an alternative to a classical guitar but take into consideration that its body is bigger than a classical guitar. If you are looking for a guitar for beginners, learning to play classical guitar is usually more comfortable in fingertips and the body size. Both guitars are equally good.
► Can I learn classical guitar on my own?
Technically, yes. You have tone of free and paid information in the internet. If you have self-discipline and set yourself short-term and practical goals. You are on the right track to playing guitar songs and solos. However, if you want to play a classical guitar repertoire like Bach, Tarrega, Barrios, and their friends, I would suggest that you take frontal guitar lessons with a classical guitar teacher.
► How long does it take to learn classical guitar?
First, it does take more time than just learning guitar songs. To play some interesting repertoire and not some boring exercises invest at least half an hour a day. The more you play with professional guidance, the shorter it gets. After about 2 years in this route, you’ll be able to play intermediate guitar piece, hopefully with ease.

Excelllent review. I bought it the same model on July 6th, Simply I love it❤ Greetings from Chile ????????
my guitar teacher recommended this one to me when i started. Still have it and it plays well. Great for new players and intermediate as well (for study)
Do you have any experience with Ortega r122sn? I can't find it near my location so I will have to get it online so reviews would help.
I always find myself playing this guitar, even though I have better nylon string guitars. It might be the low action or the thin C Type neck or the structure which responds well to soft touch. Do you have any recommendation for a quality all-solid classical guitar, which has similar structure to Cort AC100. My aim is to find a mellow-sounding guitar that is easy to play. I am playing mostly chord-melody arrangements, Bossa-nova, latin and jazz. I was looking to 50mm or 48 mm necks but then I am surprised to find out Cort AC100 is very easy with a 52 mm neck.
Thanks for the demo, is this a solid top guitar?
Can you suggest 1 gd guitar for fingerstyle (intermediate level ) ?
My guitar is cort ac100 and it's nice
Cort brand is one of the most underrated . Cort is not underrated. They make guitars for many companies and just a few under their own brand. Their main business is making for other companies with state-of-the art factories.
