Daniel Ekeroth Demonstrates Swedish Death Metal Guitar Sound
From http://www.swedishdeathmetal.com, SWEDISH DEATH METAL author Daniel Ekeroth demonstrates hilarious technique for achieving the legendary Swedish death metal guitar sound, invented by Leif Cuzner of Nihilist and perfected at Studio Sunlight in Stockholm. Great clip, but the book is better than the movie!

you forgot about the blown-out speaker that made Dismember famous sound like through handkerchief
Fuck off with the Metal Zone sucks!!! Got more control over the EQ than this!!!
Everybody talks about pedal settings but never amp settings
Luckily these don't seem to be "rare" by any stretch of the imagination, don't know if it was then but now it seems they're readily available.
Boss MT-2 Blasphemy!!!
The Devil has a name and his name is Boss HM-2. The most insane guitar pedal.
Maximum of death
I managed to get that sound by plugging boss ds1 (all settings maxed) and boss sd1 (small boost) to a distorted amp
Love your book!
People still not knowing nirvana 2003 created the swedish sound with the hm2 always makes me laugh so hard, the only person I ever met who knew was Tomas Lindberg lol
When I saw the Waza released, I thought back to this video. The comparisons I listened to between the original hm-2 and the Waza hm-2 it's a night and day difference. The Waza sounds maybe slightly better/closer than the other hm-2 clones but they have definitely not been able to replicate it 1:1 so the point you made still stands
For those looking for an HM2, the Behringer HM300 has the exact same circuit for only €20
Hm2 are easy to get the waza is awesome and there's about 100 clones
Six seconds of raw?
Amp designers spend countless years engineering the perfect tone for certain genres. This dude really just cranked up a distortion pedal and said yup good enough. And that sparked one of the most influential tones in death metal.
Simple and elegant 😀
All to max…
still hilarious and accurate
Pro-tip is that you put the pedal AFTER a driven amp.
The amp
