Lyrics:
Life goes on
We’re turning the pages tumultuously
Toward certain disaster
Weeks and days with broken wings
I don’t mind…
My will is the master
‘Please release me, crawl my way back to the ground’
…The world makes a cried-out, dried-out sound…
And this is so much larger
All we are is a fading madness
All we are is a place in time
All we have is the faith that it’s all gonna change…
…GET ME OUT
Take a minute
You’re only as strong as your mind
Enduring depression… weeks and days with rubber knees
But I Don’t mind…
…I’m grace under pressure
‘Please release me, I’ve been here for so long…’
…The world makes a dried-out, fucked up sound
This is so much larger
All we are is a faded madness
All we are is a place in time
All we have is the faith that it’s all gonna change…
SO GET ME OUT
Seek the middle
Through words of fire
The worthy reach me, I’ve no place for you now
Cause this is so much larger
All we are is a faded madness
All we are is a place in time
All we have is the faith that it’s all going to Jainism
All we are is a faded madness
All we were was a place in time
If all we have is the faith that it’s all going to change
GET ME OUT
Brother, you’ve got to pay… what have you got to say
Brother, you gotta to pay…
I’VE ALREADY GOT YOU

Damn if this song doesn't regularly bring me to tears even after listening to it so many times.
Have you heard the "Smash Into Pieces – Six Feet Under" ? Not a fan, but have stumbled upon their music few days ago, and the intro to this song resembles your chorus from Jainism SO MUCH it hurts, however, it seems like their song was recorded a year or so ago, so it has to be a crazy coincidence
You sound like Dev. Probably. Lol
So awesome! Thanks for your music Devin! ????????????????
I like that you leave a message, if we listen to you. Great message. Thanks Devin ????✨????????????????
Does anyone know what synth is used for the sequenced sound?
????????????
I dont want to be that guy, but at this point every devy song sounds the same. I like it, but its getting kinda repetitive.
Been playing this album on repeat lately.. It's actually a banger.
Those lyrics!! “the world makes a dried out, fucked up sound…”
Also the word play with Jainism. This hit me way harder than I was expecting, absolutely love the new tracks so far.
Devin is a musical singularity ????
Man just when i thought Dev couldnt make anything else greater than what he's already done… he puts out this gem… FANTASTIC Dev!!!! Cant wait to see you come back to Florida for another tour.
What tuning ?
Devin's trademarks still are fat guitars, choir-like vocals, epic instrumentation and bad greenscreen keying 😀 I love it!
This whole album is perfection
Bruce wills canta muy bien
3:01 man… I love those screams.. so 90s
masterpiece
BEST song on the album!
????
ahhhahahahahhahaha. hahahhahahahaha. hahaha….heh. this is silly.
Im just listening in 2,5hours loop and and i feel so happy, restored and relaxed. best song for more than decade by Mr. Devin! Thank you so much
When a 50 yo guy brings fresh air into metal…
FUCKING BANGER WOW
Good song!
Damn. I have to say it once: Devin, I've been listening to your music since I was 18 (I'm a 43-year-old woman now) and every album fits my life situation perfectly and no matter what crisis I'm going through – there's always that perfect new song at exactly the right moment, which seems to magically know my pain and carries it away on the wings of sound and gives me relief from my mental anguish. Thank you for being there, without you and your music I wouldn't have been able to live my life!
Holy Shit is this fucking FIRE!
This song talks about how to deal with depression, right? Depression is a bitch
Is Townsend a jainist now?
Terria vibes.
Ecellent,just in ti????????me
Sooooo gooood!!!!
Still one of the greatest rock musicians of the last decades!
I get it, devy. I don't know how to explain it though
Bro, this sounds awesome! Get me out! Love ya bro.
Devin is just not capable of making a bad track! Wow.
Such a goofball.
Sounding oddly similar to Feed the Wolf by Breaking Benjamin
about jainism, reading little bit I will say: moi ce qui m'intéresse c'est pas leurs engagements….c'est….la langue qui voyage…. ça…spirit!
thanks for this kind of chords progression…I was born in 88, and My dream as teenager was this kind of harmonic integration in music…Je suis tellement enragé que ce que je pensais être une révolution rock puisse être celle de personnes interdites de dire….interdites d'avoir un discours dans une société qui participe et participait et participera à des guerres…j'entends ça partout…alors je fais mick Jagger…. 😉
I thought Dev was taking some time off to get away from this copy n paste style he's developed in recent years? This stuff us sounding no different…yet again!
Terria, Ocean Machine, Infinity…distant memories.
excelent
Unbelievable!!!!!
Jainisam another branch of sanatana hindu dharma or hindus ❤ its all about peace but this is screaming an explaining the same ????ironic but peace shud be propogated
FUCK YES!!!! Devin never ceases to amaze me
2:51 The possibility of having more synthesizer versions of Devin's music with or without guitar parts would be intriguing :D.
Devin bought my buds and I a round of whiskey after playing at the BB King Bar & Lounge in NYC, back in the days of Strapping Young Lad when Devy had his signature hair. Also, Tobin Abasi opened for him, though I can't recall if it was Animals As Leaders yet back then. Awesome show. I was one of the taller folks being a Korean amongst a see of leather clad latino metalheads. Amazing experience.
