DIY Midi Bass Foot pedal project

Here is the second projet from my son. He already did one on my previous videos. This one have been done with a Casio CT-655 ( Midi). So it’s really not expensive to build, but take time and patience ( and some electronic skills). The advantages are you could use all the sounds from the old keyboard and also use it as Midi. So take an old organ, take off foot pedals, find an old keyboard on the locker room, and here you are. So all credits to my son ! Also you can check my son’s previous project Bass pedal : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsW337WUQTw

  • I'd like to make something where the "instruments" have a more natural sound like real band equipment. For Solo gigs

  • JUST what I've been looking for. I can't have more that 40 songs with the bass lines programmed into them on my Boss Dr. 880, With a foot bass I could have 200 songs in my repitoire. Can you just have the bass lines alone play, If it had a good shuffle beat and 4 beat that's all I need.
Trouble is, it's a controller for a keyboard 'ya gotta lug around. It it had it's own, just simple bass guitar sounds that would be great. There was a thing called the Automatic Bass Computer made by Musiconics Inc. in Waco Tx who also made the "Guitorgan" which I had and played for years. Wish I'd have bought one.

  • Great job ! It was quite alot of work just to wire it up but you went & mounted it in a good durable chassis as well & now have a unit that can be portable & does all you need it to do. TYVM for sharing this as it will inspire others to do the same rather than spending vast amounts to get one that is allready set up that way. TY again & wishing you many years of playing & enjoying a great set of foot pedals.

  • Cool board. Would you ever consider making something like this to sell? Im looking for a midi controller pedalboard unfortunately all the ones that are currently in production are super expensive and used ones are hard to find and also expensive.

  • What you did looks great, but with no audio explaining what exactly you're doing it's a little difficult to follow. I have a Hammond spinet L100 that I'd like to add a string bass sound to using a E223 Yamaha, which I have torn apart. But how do you even start with the current contacts (key switches) on the printed board? Do you have a schematic? I can't seem to find one. Thanks so much for any help.
