  • Have a play around with the Origin Effects Cali76 SlideRig. I think you'll love it. Travelled from Hawkes Bay to see your show in Auckland recently. I brought a bottle of Hawkes Bay wine to give you, but couldn't find anyone at the venue who I trusted to deliver it to you haha. So yeah, It was delicious.

  • Just saw you in Seattle last night. Absolutely amazing. Thank you for sharing your energy and talent…I brought my 17 year old drummer nephew with me. First time at a club show and it changed his whole musical perspective. he looked at me and said "I get Led Zeppelin now". LP fan for life after hearing what a real strong groove, soul can bring to a song and live setting. Thank you again and we'll keep supporting you.

  • Hi Megan, I'm an old Twin man and for my Strat my favorites are the Boss Space Echo and Blue Sky by Strymon I put on the effect loop. Other pedals like my John Bull by ToadWorks and the Boss Overdrive OD-3 I put in front of the Keeley Compressor what opens a strange new options in combination with the Boss Super Octave OC-3 on the direct line in surely for the Lap Steelers as well. Wuff, hope gave some inspirations?! All Best, Peter

  • Hey Megan, I have one of your new Beard signature lap steels on the way and I’m wondering what kind of strap you use with yours. Any info would be greatly appreciated and helpful. I’m way late on these DYI lap steel vids, so I sure hope you see this. Thank you! I’m a longtime guitar player, but I’m now picking up lap steel.

Also, wanted you to know that Larkin Poe was the first band I saw after all the Covid madness. It was back in 2021 and it was such a great show! ????

  • Beaut playing & sounds. For slide sustain and another sound choice to use, you can't beat a compression pedal like a maxon cp101. If you like lowell george, bonnie raitt & 'get rhythm' era ry cooder..

  • Great Rig Megan, have a look at JOYO tremolo (yellow dog with tap tempo) , it's a bargain! If you like it I'll be pleased if you accept mine as a fan's gift, ok?

  • Hi Megan. I used the POG for a while but then I discovered the Sub'n'Up from TC Electronics. It sounds better in my opinion and it's more versatile. Try it if you get a chance. I love your playing. You and Mike Neer are my modern lap steel heroes. b0b

  • Was the line using the Freeze pedal from “A Meeting By The River?”

Thanks for the rig rundown. You have the best slide tone in the world today – tone, time, feel, everything, it’s all head and shoulders above the rest.
I have a feeling that you would dazzle listeners even if you were playing through an old Supro…..

More solo Megan vids! I could listen to you play for hours….

  • Your tone is great! Its in your fingers but great choices to get your sound. Love your acoustic playing too.

  • I just watched this back again (7 months later), and I noticed that there’s a pedal called “The Meg”!! Hope to see more come from this!

  • Amazing video. You get so much mileage out of those mini pedals it, it's remarkable. Truly, it's in the player, not the gear. You're an amazing player. One of my favorite lapsteel players, certainly. I love watching the live videos of you guys playing on YouTube. I hope to be able to see you play live soon!

  • I would dearly love to see Megan and David Gilmour jamming together. That would be a dream come true!

  • I’ve been liking some gated fuzzes like the Fairfield circuitry unpleasant surprise and function FX gate crasher, they sound killer on my old national lap steel

  • I am also a Fender guy but I play a fender steel king. It is a solid state amp but for slide I love the tone. I use a pedal to give me some more tube like overtones. Kind of shocked the slide queen doesn’t use a steel king.

  • Fender Deluxe, but I changed the speaker to a 35w Celestion Ruby which I think improves an already great amp! Ernie Ball volume pedal and a Rodenberg TB special, which is the best and most versatile distortion pedal I've used

  • I've used the Freeze pedal quite a bit. I like to hit an octave and then freeze those notes. I also have used the EHX Glove overdrive and the Steel singer OD pedal by Nux. Both are very organic and respond well to the nuances of one's playing. One of my favorites is a Boss phase shifter. Very "old school" and has a lot of different settings. It's definitely not a one trick pony. Green pedal color.

  • Nice video..my mods to drri.Pull out chassis and cut the bright cap.
Eminance canibis rex speaker..(less bright )…
JJ 6v6S are great.but stock preamp tubes aren't..Hey girl that tin can you put your axe in needs a trim..Too much horn sticking out beyond your right arm..Keep some for the strap anchor but no more than that. Will look better, less is more..Size doesn't matter on this one.lol

  • since you usually play through amps with reverb, you might want to check out TC Electronic's Flashback II echo pedal, a lot of options. 100% Fender tube RI amps. Is there anything not to like about Megan?

  • I think you should try the Supro Tremolo pedal out. It would sound killer with your style!
