  • Hi, can’t decide between the OM here or a blueridige BR 163….what should I get? I live in Ireland so I don’t have the opportunity to play either. Thanks

  • Black is not a good idea. Cedar has such a beautiful natural color ! E2d is an awesome guitar. Most of bluegrass players enjoy the aggressive attack of spruce. But this guitar is super balanced, yet, projects a lot, but evenly. Cedar is a different animal. Every time you play a cedar guitar people notice. You gotta have a cedar top guitar. The tonal difference comes from the top while with rosewood of mohagony, it comes from the back and sides. The tonal difference is very noticeable because of this. The OM is also very nice. The tone is the same but more compressed due to the body size. Tone sample: https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxtxAKwsM5sDSNhe8BPAhToszHSJwS93kr?si=FQPIBdREedbOYVR2

  • Looks like a cheap child guitar because of that black, "satin", dull top. Imagine a black grand piano – but not Glossy?! Terrible.
So sad because they sound awsome, and Your playing Sir, is out of this world.

  • My black guitar is a Martin prototype dreadnought with Poplar back and sides, Adirondack top. Definitely a moody smooth sounding instrument unique ????to itself. ????

  • I typically prefer the sound of a dread over an OM, but I think the OM sounds better in this comparison. Not slight on the dread. I have an E2D and absolutely love it.

  • Enjoyed the video. Nice playing. I’d still spring for a hard shell case with some D’Ado humidity protection packs. Semper Fi

  • I designed and built alot of diff types of music intrucments over the years** I will be 97 in Sept and still working.
T found out the only reason a instrument is painted t **is to use poor grade of lumber .ALL THE FLAWS CAN BE COVERED
by filler and paint ETC:***POOR SOUND QUALITY.**I built the following types **kantels psalterys dulcimers, hard body guitars ***DR KEL

  • 30th subscriber LIKE; 267th desktop looky-loo. Why not have one of each? Though I don't NEED the bling – some abalone against that matte-black would look stunning.

  • I have have a gen 1, 122 that I love the sound of, it is very rich and full body sounding. I give it a 5 out of 5 with sound and plugged will out do my 622 sound wise., but I love the neck on the 622.

  • gorgeous looking instrument……EXCEPT…….for the fact that fingerprints and oily skin marks are so apparent and unsightly. i'd like to see eastman and other companies come up with a thin finish, matte look that has a texture that does not accentuate oily human hand marks. otherwise, it's really neat looking.
