Donner DST-550 Review & Demo | This Will Upset Some People

#guitar #donner #donnermusic

I very rarely have so much conviction in my reviews and you know that I am honest in every single one, sponsored or not. This is the Donner DST-550, a new electric guitar from Donner. Roasted maple board, locking tuners, HSS pickup configuration, blue/silver sparkly finish. All of this for $289 US. Why will this guitar upset some people? Well, if you bought something similar for more money, you’re gonna regret it. How they make a guitar this good for the price is absolutely insane. Check out the link below to go pick one up for yourself, you won’t regret it!

  • On a whim I bought the white one. How is the string action? Too high, too low or just right?

  • I have a realllly cool Donner tri pedal similar(ish) to that one that they don't make anymore. that and this together is actually the perfect beginner chain but….doesn't exist Donner dropped it probably seven or so years ago

It has three reverbs, room hall and plate three delays, digital analog and echo
And three mods Chorus reverb and flanger

I don't know why they threw the entire backend of an effects loop into one very usable pedal…but it's the one pedal I'm never selling. I'll never find another one.

  • It’s more like an RG with 22 frets vs a Fender Strat. Strats have softer rounder edges vs the sharp edges of a shredder guitar.

  • I think this might just be my next guitar. I hate the look of both options, but I can always get the white one and paint the pick guard, considering it has decent electronics + a roasted maple neck. And under $300? Can't beat that.

  • Great review… One Question. Donner DST-550 39-inch. What do they mean by 39 inch, scale length? Thank You for the review. This is the only one I found on this guitar.

  • Any idea what the size of the block is? That often seems to correlate with tuning stability as well as the smoothness of the nut slots. This guitar has a bone nut, which is good. And they say the maple neck is "carbonized."" No idea what that means.
