  • I sometimes don't understand what you're talking about when you dive into details about drumming because I don't play the drums, but I kind of get what you mean because I play the guitar and listen to a lot of music. Always love to watch a different perspective from when I listen to songs and yours are really entertaining because I feel like you enjoy the same details I do too.

  • @ 11:10 or so i think the thing you're talking about i love so much hearing and playing or trying to play sometimes lmfao, is what i call a "slide". i have no idea actual terminology etc but. it's like a quick soft double stroke or even triple stroke on one stick directly into the actual hard hit coming from the other stick and then continue into the fill or groove or whatever, i love to do it to start like standard or standard ish like snare tom fills to add a little spice. So it's kinda like double stroke flam? ish.

although in this case it looks like he did it with the top left tom and the kick so either KLLR or like L L+K R or something and then right to snare hit, some combination of a double stroke on one hand a single on the other hand and a kick to make that quick flam slide sound. He does it a lot with the snare too

  • So refreshing to see another drummer who actually understands what he’s saying ???? him throwing these linear fills across the kit sounds incredible. Him shaping it to triplets is that gospel influence showing its face lol

  • 10:54 I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure he's splitting a herta-style thing between the toms and the snare. This is one of the things I've wanted to incorporate in my own playing for a while but haven't been able to replicate purely because of how fast and smooth it is.

  • As a fairly new adult drummer myself. I started playing around on rented Zildjin and Meinl. Now, my personal set of cymbals are all Istanbuls. I really like the personality and tone the cymbals have. I got the Turk ride and hihats, with a couple different Xist crashes. Probably wont ever touch other companies now.

  • You should react to the vegeta rap "say my name" by divide music. The drums go absolutely insane in that song

  • The night does not belong to god is on drumeo's full offering interview that is an hour long if you want to check it out. Each song is time stamped for you to reference what all he performed in that interview if you would like to watch any of his drumming for those tracks.
