  • The smaller one fits better on a busy pedalboard. ???? A very versatile chorus indeed. Can even do the John Scofield stuff with it. ????

  • The Small Clone can go a bit deeper. Plus it's just friggin' cool looking. Other than that, they sound the same. Well worth it to spend a few extra buck$ to get the real thing , in my opinion.

  • i wanted to buy neo clone but when i heard small clone i changed my mind, Small clone sound so deeper than neo clone for me, i love that deep sound

  • Thanks for the video. They sound the same!!! I just got a NeoClone and loving it

  • yeah the original has a fuller sound, if in the video you jump between 2:27 and 3:08 the diference is clear, same sound effect but one sounds fat and the other it is on a diet-the reason for the size i guess..lol. good video
i did a mod by switching the depth switch with a 50k pot so you can increase or decrease gradually the depth, amazing mod( you can find it here on YT) , doing the 9v plug switch mod, will be my next project.
Now im working on the EVH MXR Flanger pedal by adding a second switch so i can use EVH preset sound and use a second effect with this same pedal, this pedal does wonders, from chorus , rotary, to tremolo..i think Eddie used it as a rotary cabin speaker in the solo "Not Enough" is for sure the MXR flanger pedal with the correct settings

  • I have both. The Small Clone has a certain magic to it but the Neo is far more sturdy and practical and has a vibe of its own. My Small Colne has broken down twice where my Neo Clone is as tough as old boots. The Neo is the one that's on my board.

  • Thank you for this comparison. Soundwise i definitly prefer the small Clone the size of the neo Clone is more practical. But it is the Sound that counts in the end.

  • dude you have videos for every pedal and guitar i want to see reviewed what an underrated channel

  • If anything I think the Neo Clone is slightly brighter and affects the high end of your tone. Other than that I can’t hear much of a difference

  • Am I missing something here? None of my 9v cables fit my small clone. Do I need to get a smaller adapter?

  • Just got my small clone today. I'm in Bulgaria so it's rare to see the good stuff, but finally i found one in this pawn shop.

Compared to my old tc electronic third dimension chorus it's like night n day, lovin it.

  • I have a orange micro dark with a vintage 30 1×12 cab, the amp has nice cleans but when I enable a DS2 it sounds a bit muddy and not as clear etc. Wondering do you think its the vintage 30 speaker that's causing my problems? or any recommendations for at home combo amps with FX loop that could get a nirvana tone?

  • they're very similar but the nano clone sounded a little bit brighter and less smooth. It's got a really subtle spikiness in the top end that the small clone doesn't have

  • The Neo has a bit of a tinnier tone to it. The Small Clone on the other hand has a much smoother and deeper tone to it. Always have to go with the Small Clone. Although, there isn't much difference between the two. Both very cool indeed! Lovely, dreamy chorus sound!

  • Small clone is so huge though. Great sound tho… just hearing about the neo ???? still the original small clone is grunge. Anything else ehh

  • I couldn't tell the difference tbh. I like the big old fella for looks and it's not that more expensive than the Neo really .

  • Before I even watch this video ,I had to comment on the ad at the beginning for Guitar Guitar . The guy is selling his Music Man Van Halen or Peavey Wolfgang or similar . Maybe it's coincidence but I heard that since Eddie passed away , people started asking double for used EVH related gear . I'm all for people making money , but to take advantage of someone's death just seems wrong to me . I'm not criticising you btw Rob , I know you don't choose the ads ! Just rubs me up the wrong way. Now that's off my chest , back to the video ????

  • Dang, I think there is an ever so subtle difference between the 2, the second pedal I ever bought and use is the Neo Clone, and it does work for what I want, especially Nirvana, i would probably get the small stone just because Kurt used one haha but I have to not go spending on more pedals at the moment ????

  • You alright Rob? Great video btw. I recently got the THUNDERSTORM Flanger pedal it has Rate, Manual, Feedback and Depth controls I was just wondering what settings you'd recommend to get a Van Halen "Ain't Talkin Bout Love" kinda sound? Thanks mate

  • In my opinion i think i’ll go for the small clone, but the down part is that it doesn’t have side inputs …just top inputs but i’ll sort that out once i get it but yeah I’ll defenetly go for small clone

  • i like the small clone between these 2 for sure. I really enjoy the bass clone though! even for guitar
