Hey everybody and welcome back to my pink room of doom, as always, I hope you’re doing well today! My name is Jonathan and I run the Electric Flamingo channel here on YouTube, the only and best flamingo themed guitar channel on the platform! Why am I here? Just to have fun, discuss guitars, gear, music and everything in between in the guitar player’s world! I have played guitar for almost 15 years at this point, I have recorded music for a little under that, probably about 13 years or so. I am not a professional by any means, but it’s all in good fun and I enjoy doing it! I try to include lots of different types of content in my uploads. Skits, reviews, demos, discussions, etc. I’m always open for suggestions as well, so if you have anything you would like to see or hear me talk about, please leave me a comment or contact me on Instagram and I will do my best to fill that request!

  • My 2011 DR100 sounds as good as some more expensive ($600) acoustics. An impressive instrument for the price.

  • I have a model called the aj100ce/n, which is a bit different, but using similar materials. The year is 2011. Has a rosewood fretboard which I prefer. Back then indian rosewood fretboards were standard even on budget guitars, but now they are using different woods. Perhaps different types of rosewood, because there are actually tons of different types of rosewood. Bought it used a couple years ago, but the action was always too high. I'm learning how to setup guitars now, so just recently I have been working on setting it up with low action. I adjusted the truss rod, sanded down the saddle to lower the action to where I want, and I also shaved the top of the bridge, because with the neck angle it wouldn't allow for a very low action with much saddle sticking up (for increased break angle over saddle) if you know what I mean. So the only option to achieve that was to shave the bridge. Last step is to lower the nut to where I want it to lower the nut action a bit. So far so good.

  • I had a DR-100 a decade ago when I was living in Europe. Even have proof! haha https://youtu.be/MDKKguBm6-k It was alright. Didn't stay in tune and playability was subpar, but it was only ~$100 at the time and it met my acoustic needs.

  • I have two epiphone acoustics. I love them both dearly. Had to file down the bridge on one. Other than that, they are both fantastic and affordable. You and I will have to agree to disagree on the E tho ???? I prefer no branding on the pickguard. Sounds great as always my man ????????
