  • Hi Janek! love the vlog and you're inspiring me to become a better bass player and explore different techniques. I'm wondering if you ever plan on coming to Canada and more specifically Victoria, BC. Thanks!

  • Bandcamp is shutting down. They sent me an email, you should have the same in your inbox…

  • I got my Coffee with Janek travel mug today! The ironic thing about that is that it won't be travelling much in the near future. Janek, you totally deserve to be happy doing what you do and have earned your support and respect; not only for your bass playing but also for your vlogging/ film-making skills and your outlook on life. You are rich! Thanks for the vicarious thrills of letting us into your life and music.
Q: Where do you envision music in general to be going? I mean, may be even as little as 10 years ago this bass solo concert thing would not be as feasible. I enjoy playing bass because it usually means playing with other musicians, but watching your solo concerts has opened up a lot of possibilities.

  • Hello Janek … Quick question. When you play your bass which mode do you use (Passive or Active) ? If Active, why do you prefer playing through the preamp? You said most of the time you control the sound from your finger. In my opinion (and my taste), I prefer Passive because it's easier to control the tone from my finger. I'd like to hear your opinion about this. Love your Vlog and always be your big fan!! Cheers!!! from Chiangmai Thailand.

  • Hi. I'm a flutist and have been watching your vlog non-stop for 2 weeks now — tons of food for thoughts for any musician, I appreciate your effort. Are you ever planning to perform in Australia? P.S. "Live at the 55bar" at bandcamp is mind-blowing, very pleasurable to listen to.

  • Hey Janek, Great vlog, massively inspirational, keep sending the positive vibes!

I do have a question or more of a request, could you give details about how you create and manage your revenue streams from your music etc?

And when will you be coming to the UK?

  • Hi Janek! I find your vlogs very inspiring, and I have recommended them to both other bass players, and other people too. Question for the next QnA, I am a bass player myself, that is looking to pursue a career in music.. the problem is, I've done a music degree, but I don't know which is the best way to go next. What is your advice on getting gigs in a city with a massive and diverse music culture? and furthermore, do you have any last minute world tour stops for melbourne! would love a response! Cheers,
    Josh

  • Hi Janek! I have to say, the consistency of your vlog is super inspiring to those of us who struggle to find time even to practice daily. Given your background in both drums and bass within a jazz setting, can you settle the great debate: who leads the band, the walking bass line or the ride cymbal pattern?

Could you post some of those great questions that were asked at your recent clinic on your next QnA please?. You said they were exceptional. Cheers and be safe traveling.
