Just The Tone

B.A.S.S. is an EP exploring a soundscape often overlooked when people discuss Hiphop from the dirty South. Miami is known for the Bass sound which exploded in the 80’s and all through the 90’s. Even as time passed artist from this region were pigeon held to the standards of Club music.
In this album a veteran Emcee Orion does what some might consider a bait & switch. This album is nothing like the Original Miami Bass sound. It pays homage to it with the intro and outro aside from that its all raw Hip-hop from the Mind of a Dade County emcee.
The acronym Brass and Silver Slugs is mainly due in part that the majority of this album has features. The features are the Silver Slugs Orion is the Brass. Only two tracks were not produced by Orion all the features with the exception of Thirstin Howl the 3rd are Miami Dade County Emcees. The respect this region has fought for and continues to fight for is an ongoing battle for Emcees like Orion.
In conclusion, this is only the first installment of three EP’s carrying the same concept. We hope you enjoy this project it is in no way intended to disrespect the Miami Bass sound and or community. Keep it locked, play it loud so it can quad, and let this be a taste of real lyricism from the 305.
