  • One thing to consider in putting it into production is a character defining fretboard inlay which distinguishes fully torrefied versus top only torrefied models. In this way, the distinguishing feature is awarded instant recognition.

  • I like bigger necks, and V necks. I have had guitars with volutes, and they look nice but I don't really like them for myself. Same with slot through saddles. I own one right now on a Martin. But they are more trouble when dealing with working down or replacing saddles. I'd have to pick a standard drop in. I don't think there's a big difference in sound between the two.????

  • Legit question. Are the braces torrefied? I spoke with them a while back and they were not planning on cooking any braces. Have they changed that?

  • Thank you John and Jeremy for this video! We are glad that you enjoyed playing the first GR-BG-42T.
Thank you everyone for your kind comments!

  • Who is this guitar for?

Someone with 7K of disposable income!

Seriously Boucher is making seriously great guitars and it would probably twice as much from a small builder and probably not any better!

No question that 7K is a lot of money (more than I could spend, at least at this time) but if this is someone’s dream guitar it’s worth it if it will give you years of musical joy!

When I bought my Furch Yellow Master’s Choice Gc-CR it was for me, a lot more than I ever imagined spending, yet every time I open her case, put her in my hands and play, I’m so glad I took the plunge!

I recorded my current CD with her and everyone was amazed by how incredible she sounded and I’m going in to record my next CD in December and can’t wait to hear her recorded again, especially after another year of playing, since she only gets better every day!

So if guitars bring you joy this Boucher speaks to your heart, and you can afford it, it’s definitely worth it, life is short!!

  • I don't understand buying a wonderful sounding expensive guitar and playing it thru a pickup and making it sound like a cheap laminated guitar

  • Have you any idea what the price in Europe can be? I'm interested so I can start saving? J.P. said you are working together, so this will be a super buy.

  • I have a Boucher BG-52-G Bluegrass goose, torrified and with pickup inside. It sounded pretty good right out of the box but hasn't improved much beyond that in 2 yrs, even with lots of hard playing. It doesn't come close to matching the volume and resonance of my Martin D28 Authentic 1937. Despite what JP Cormier led me to believe, BG-52 isn't that amazing. Lol

  • I agree with john 100%. If I could get a Boucher with a slot through saddle and thicker v neck I'd put the money down immediately.

  • I like a little bit of a v-shaped neck. Not too much though. I think that's all would worry about. I love the new torrification process. I could hear the difference well. Play that thing on Shoppe Talk come Wednesday.

  • I have a BG-42-GM and it opened up a ton in the first couple years of owning it. I wonder what this one will sound like in a couple of years.

Also, the BG-42 is the best sounding acoustic to me. It does things i didn't know an acoustic could do and can get an incredible roar.

  • John now you have to do a comparison of Toriffied dread and non Torrifed . Sounds great as per usual from Boucher.
