  • i got one for 800 bucks….in 2015…..it is the 2008 model i think……… then i spent 90 to have it all set up perfect…….wow, the pre-amp is over the top loud and muscular…… 18 volts….. also, w/ the p and j positions, it really is 2 differant basses……

  • Great video and demo. Do you know if the P pickup is in the standard P spot or shifted towards the neck? Is it the same distance from the 12th fret as your vintage P?
    Thanks!

  • I just bought this bass at a pawn shop for a song, practically brand new! I put some new strings and batteries in/on it, and Wow….. I'm completely impressed!!! Amazing playability, and tones for days!!! I've been playing steadily since 1972, I wish I had this bass many years ago!!!

  • Great review! Like others commenters here, I appreciate your attention to the passive P tone; it is after all, the bedrock of bass tones. AND, you actually showed the active J with the bass boosted, bravo! It's like you read my mind! I'm gonna buy this bass now thanks to you. I believe your enthusiasm is genuine. You play great too. I'm sub'd. Great work! Thank you.

  • Thanks for the review, I just wonder 1 thing: Can the tone knob that used in passive mode, be used in active mode?

  • What kind of strings do you like for the Pbass Elite, Type and gauge? I own this bass and also a couple of Precision’s I have Flats on my regular Precision not sure how it would work with this Combo Jazz and Pbass

  • Nice review – thanks! Much better after the drums quit (nothing wrong with the beat just too hot in the mix).

  • Best review of this bass I’ve seen so far. A few others demonstrated its tonal versatility, but you’re the only one who sold me on this bass’s classic P Motown sound. The other tones are great, but I would’ve felt stupid investing in a P bass that can’t sound like a classic P bass. Eager to try this out.

  • Great review, great bass and your tone is very nice compared to other youtube vids. So I'm curious about signal chain in recording?

  • I know everyone has their own opinions. You're playing a maple fretboard, and I wanted to ask how much effect you think fretboard wood choice has on your tone/sound? How much would the sound of this bass be different if it had a rosewood or ebony board??

  • Thanks for great review & helping me to choose this base. Just can´t wait it to be delivered. It´s same base with rosewood fingerboard & black pickguard. Sound is amazing & I liked alot of your playing. Hope to hear more.

  • Great demo! I just bought the exact same PJ Elite a week ago and you are spot on about the versatility of it. Fender really knocked it out of the park. I have about 9 or 10 basses that I will be able to cull from the herd now. It will probably replace my 62 reissue P bass as well. Thanks again for the well done video!

  • A great thing of this bass is the combination of two classic bass sounds: P- Bass and the J Bass bridge sound.
