The latest series of low-priced, solid state combos from Fender is a bit of a bigger deal than you might assume. For starters, the Fender Mustang Amplifier series offers more than just impressive volume for your dollar. These amps pack impressive digital modeling and DSP-driven effects sections — loaded with uncanny recreations of some far-pricier vintage Fender combos — not to mention the ability to edit presets via USB and the included Fender Fuze software.

We checked out the Fender Mustang II, the 1×12, forty-watt entry in the series.
