  • A very thorough review. The only thing no one mentions is upper neck access. I have Jazz and P basses. The lower horn hits the back of my hand. How do you feel about the Jaguar in that respect?

  • Hey Rumblin Man, so what's the verdict now on the Pao Ferro fretboard? I think i saw you recommended the maple neck on this one? All my other players series basses have maple fretboard, would like to try the Pao Ferro fretboards. Thanks and God bless bro!

  • Great review! Really found it useful. Got myself one, actually. Also, it is Pah-oo Ferro, not Pay you ferro =P
    Keep up the good work!

  • Great review. I am new to bass. I have been playing on a cheap P bass and now just got one of these (limited all black version). The neck is so much more narrow. I am having to relearn my muscle memory from the last two months on a roomier P bass neck- frustrating but definitely understand what bassists mean by a faster neck now.

  • Great video! very through with important details. I just have a general question not related to this bass. What is that sound/technique at 0:17s called, where it sounds kind of muted pluck sound from two strings? And perhaps how to generate that sound. Thanks in advance.

  • I love the channel! A great mixture between discussing details and the playing samples. I enjoy hearing about your thoughts and examples of being a bassist. I thought I wanted a jazz until I came across the jaguar and I'd love to own one! Thanks so much for the review of this awesome sounding bass 🙂

  • Hi Rumnlin Man, I have to ask again, as I have asked on your review of the P and J models in this series. Can you use the Jaguar for rock and metal? Thank you kindly for your excellent videos, and insights.

  • I'm lucky enough to own an american standard jaguar bass(in sunburst) just blows me away the sounds that this thing can produce with the added 19v preamp circuit. It's just a shame fender only produced them for a year, now maybe quite sought after?

  • Really wish this was short scale. Much more in line with a jaguar. Why not just play a p bass? Bummer.

  • Your video is literally the only review I can find of someone playing fingerstyle. Thank you for using a variety of techniques in this review. This video has helped me make my decision to buy this bass. Other instrument reviewers should take note; this is how you review an instrument.

  • Great review once again Rumblin' Man! Wow! Now I'm starting to like those Jaguar basses, I think my favorite one is the tidepool color with a maple fretboard!

  • Thank you for this review! I'm stuck between buying a new Player Series P-Bass or a Jaguar. I already have a Jazz Bass (an old Highway One) that I love, but I want a bass with that split S-coil bottom end.

  • Good review! I'm currently thinking of getting either Fender Jaguar or Ibanez SR650, not sure if this video helped me with my choice tho 😀

  • Thanks for the review! I was deciding between a P-Bass and a Jag. I currently have and Ibanez ATK, love it, but man it is a heavy beast. So after trying out the P-Bass and Jag, I decided on the Jag, I love it!!!

  • Great review. I've been wanting a new bass, but am totally vacillating: i want that low end punch of the P bass, but am not keen on the neck. I love the sound of the Jazz bass, and the neck, but also want that P pickup, but don't want to spend $1200 for it. I was just about ready to order a new Player Jazz bass… then I saw some guys on another channel playing the Jaguar with a Stratocaster. The sound was incredible. boom! Thanks for making up my mind. I'm gonna gladly send you a little cash for your help.

  • I've grown really like the Jag Bass lately. It has that sound of being active without actually being active (which is great because I don't like worrying about having to change batteries)

  • Great review! I’m a guitar player, looking for my first bass. I was hesitating between P or J so yes PJ is the right choice and I like Jaguar’s shape. Now my choice is maple or pao ferro?

  • Hey really nice video. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to buy a P-bass or a Jaguar. I love the sound from a P but like the narrow neck on the jaguar. Can you get it to sound like a P-bass with the split P pickup and are there any difference in sound between the PF and maple fretboard on the jaguar?

  • Great video Rumblin Man! I appreciate the effort you put into talking about the wood, pickups, and manufacturing of the bass.

I’m looking to consolidate my bass collection and wanted a P, but the nut width is just too wide for me. This looks like a great option.

  • I bought a 5-string Squier Jaguar Bass from the Vintage Modified Series back in 2016. She became my first 5-string bass, and she was one of the last 5-string Jaguar Bass models I was able to get since it was made in the same year I ordered. I bought the bass used, but Fender discontinued the production in 2017. Let’s get to the important part. The Jaguar Bass I ordered has a PJ layout just like the Mexican Player Jaguar Bass. She has a strong set of pickups.

  • This is by far the best review of the Player Jag Bass. There's so few out there. I'm trying to decide between the Jag or the P bass in this series. I love the P bass sound, but might like the Jag neck a little better since I'm coming over from guitar. Is the difference in width that noticeable?
