  • Hey Steve thanks for posting this it’s really helpful – my back is getting to the end of humping a 4 x 10 cab in and out of bars and clubs…???? I’m looking for something lighter!! can you tell me the size of clubs (approx folks in ‘em) when you’re not going through the house PA?? Thanks again!!

  • Awesome. I'm looking at swapping my Bassman 250 combo for a rumble 500.

Also what is your Jazzbass in this Vid? It looks just like my MIM Jazzbass from the 90s

  • Great review and your settings are pretty much my preference. Question. Volume wise, does the Rumble 500 keep up with a professional drum kit?

  • Crazy question.
I already own the Rumble 500 combo stacked on 2×10 cabinet .
There is this guy selling a Fender Bassman 500 watts . At an amazing price !!!
    I’m really considering.
But if I were to use a Fender Bassman head on top of my Rumble 500 combo , with an additional 2×10 cabinet , would it work ???
I like the idea of having better access to the controls .
Not sure if this would even work .
I guess my goal would be :
Plug my bass into the Bassman head , while still using the 500 combo and the additional 2×10 cabinet .
I wish this guy that is selling his Bassman would ship it to me first before I buy it .
I want to know if it’s even possible to do before I commit .

  • Have you ever added an extension cabinet too it ???? What are your thoughts on that ? In truth there is little information available on the pros and cons of added an extension cabinet with a combo amp in parallel.

  • Instant Sub !! ( I welcome you to my channel too – knives , hats , music and movie tributes with some cosplay ). Anyway …. Haha …. I am so glad I found your channel . Long story short …. I have played in various rock bands since the 80's . ( cover bands ). Motley – Ozzy – Stones – VH – Cheap Trick – Bowie – Green Day etc etc …. Always played the bass and background vocals ( a few leads too ). I stopped playing the clubs just after 911 ( many reasons ). I had sold my big ass Ampeg head and cab back in like 2004 . But I still kept my Go to bass . I kept for sentimental reasons . It is a Peavey Foundation – made in USA . I absolutely Love it ! ( lots of road wear including knife marks on the rear as sometimes I would stab my bass with a Bowie knife at the end of a show ). It was fun at the time . hahahaha….
Also- during my time off from the live gigs , just to keep my fingers going , I started playing the 6 string . ( I have a couple Squire guitars that do the trick for what I am doing ). Squire Affinity black and just recently a Squire Butterscotch Blonde Classic Vibe ( what an awesome guitar )!!
I have kept busy practicing and even made some guest performances in Nashville .
    Now to the point —
Just last week , my old lead singer who I have not seen since 2001 , stopped by to ask me if I would be interested in joining his band …..
I gave it some thought and I think I will go for it .
I have to clean up my old bass ( change strings etc etc ), and now find an amp that will be enough to play in these local bars / clubs .
The guitar player is playing out of a Marshall . ( I don't think its stacked but if needed he has the cabinet ).
Is this amp capable to hang out with his Marshall ??
    and
If needed – can this combo 500 be stackable with say a 210 bass cab ? Or would they go side by side ??
Im thinking ahead …. just in case we have to open for someone playing at the Wells Fargo arena .
    hahahaha
I appreciate any info or guidance . As I said – It has been a while .
    Thanks bro

  • I needed a nice loud cheap bass amp and one of these popped up on a local online marketplace last year. Got it and never once have I regretted it. It's loud, sounds good, is reliable, and is even pretty light for a 500w amp.

  • Since you rarely have the gain and master much above 9 o’clock, I’m thinking the 200w version would be fine for most gigs. Any thoughts on that?

  • Definitely putting this or the 200w on my short list! Thanks for taking the time to put this out Steve ????????

  • Steve- thank you. One of the best, most practical reviews I’ve seen. When you run through a PA, do you use the XLR off the amp or do you have a separate DI? Wondering how the Rumble preamp would translate through mains vs what you here through the amp speakers.

  • The reliability is impressive!!! The Rumble 500 seems bullet proof! And with nice tone and light weight. Just incredible! I have a Rumble 40, just playing home, and I've enjoyed the tone. Thanks, Butch!

  • I'm seriously looking at this amp. Looking forward to hauling something light. I am having trouble with my TV15 on the rock side of things. So I'll just be keeping it for country. Is this good for medium size clubs without an extension cab, and no PA support? Thanks. Keep on rockin.
