Thank you for your Elvis videos. Love watching them. You’ve seen Love Me Tender 1956, can you please take a look at the live Vegas version 1970. It will make you smile. Also the story from his good friend Jerry Schilling telling the story of the day Elvis met Nixon. It’s around 10 mins long but what a story???? ????
This performance by Elvis is epic, the beginning guitar intro is electric, this is rock n roll baby ????

Excellent review. It's refreshing to see critical thinking applied in regards to WHO Elvis was. We all know the 'Pageantry' the mythos, but the fundamental question (and answer) goes largely ignored. At the core, he was a kid who loved music, and loved it just for the sake of it. He was as lucky as he was immensely talented, but fame is a poisoned chalice. He didn't know he was to become 'Elvis Presley', he just did what he loved with no thought whatsoever of what tomorrow would bring – as you say, he was authentic. But fame to his degree gathers debris in its wake and becomes attached to the core until an almost impermeable shell emerges which hides the truth. As Elvis himself said "The image is one thing – but it's very hard to live up to an image". Had Elvis not been so talented, I imagine he would have gone on to be this good looking kid who settled down, got a job, a wife and kids and jammed at the weekends in the blues bars, playing the music that, on another path, changed the world.
ELVIS, EVERYONE STOOD IN HIS SHADOW. AND THEY STILL DO.
So so good

Just a side note: people have jibes at ‘fat Elvis’ and can be very disrespectful. He was never really fat. He became incredibly bloated due to addiction and possibly underlying health/heart issues. Nobody seems to realise how very thin Elvis was in 68/69. He looks chiseled and absolutely stunning, but many do when they are just on the brink of being ‘too thin’. Even at his biggest, I’d probably be surprised at the streamline size of his jumpsuits/costumes.
There are some good videos being made giving proof against the slanderous lies that many people like to repeat on social media re Elvis. Sadly those who should be watching them won’t.
The only thing cooler than these stand up segments are the sitdown segments!!
My mother was in the hospital in Birmingham ,Alabama, and there was a woman from Memphis, Tenn. staying with her husband. She went to Humes High School with Elvis Presley. Of course my ears perked up when I heard that. She said he was so shy, he would walk down the and not looked at anyone. She said even then he was different, in a time when high school boys wore blue jeans and had crew cut haircut. Elvis wore black slacks with pink or yellow shirts. He kept to himself. She said if anyone would have told her back then that he would become an American icon she would not have ever believed it.
His 68 Comeback Special where his fans everywhere replied COMEBACK? NO NEED ELVIS, WE NEVER LEFT YOU!
Your fan then, now and forever!
As the old saying goes "Elvis was the whole package" ????????
I totally agree and too with Elvis' 69 Vegas Monologue Audio – Its so good!!!!!! He Missed the people the live audience he said that many times!!!!! His Fans were everything to him always giving autographs Jerry Schilling talks about they would have to pull him away from doing autographs because they were behind on schedule Love my Elvis ????????????????????????????????????????YOUR REACTIONS ARE SO WELL THOUGHT OUT THOUGHT PROVOKING AND GIVES YOU WAYS OF LOOKING AT ELVIS / MUSIC ETC IN SO MANY FACETS
I FIND THIS SO INTERESTING — Bruce Springsteen has said that Elvis Presley was "everything" in music and that he owes him everything. Springsteen has also spoken about his admiration for Presley's music, his attempts to meet him, and his belief that Presley's 1972 album Burning Love was his real comeback.
Springsteen's admiration for Presley
Springsteen has said that Elvis' 1956 song "Hound Dog" was a major turning point in his life.
He has also said that he envisioned his song "Fire" as something that Elvis could record.
Springsteen has told stories about his attempts to meet Elvis, including jumping the wall at Graceland.
Springsteen's belief about Presley's comeback
Springsteen believes that Elvis' 1972 album Burning Love was his real comeback.
He said, "That's when the jockeys woke up and found out that Elvis could still rock with the best of them".
Springsteen's song about Elvis
Springsteen has also sung about Elvis in his songs, including a verse that says, "Man on the radio, says Elvis Presley died".
There is no Beatle that comes even close to the perfection that is Elvis!
The BAND backing him there, most of the players worked with him during his movie soundtracks.
Elvis with his band from 1969 to 1977…They played this a lot during his comeback in Vegas 1969 and that's a great version as well.
KEV
… There can and will always be only one! … ELVIS ????????????
????
I find it so sad that people just know of Elvis and don't really know him. It upsets me that they don't bother to find out more about him as there is just so much more to him as you are finding out, Mike, and I really wish more people would.
He was such a kind, caring, generous and humble human being. You should watch the documentaries 'King of Kindness' and 'A Generous Heart' to learn more about this side of him that, more often than not, wasn't made public.
Thank you for another great reaction ????
You also need to watch his performance of this song with his band mates from this special
Elvis always the best and always will be
Do the sit down versions please ????it's ????????
"Quintessential Elvis"
