Gamma G25 and G50 guitar combo amplifiers – demo
Over the last 25 to 30 years, it has been nearly impossible to buy a decent brand-new guitar amplifier for less than $200. The cost of an amplifier in this price range wasn’t the only thing that was low – so were the volume output, sound quality and players’ expectations for getting an amp that could be used for anything other than disappointing solo practice sessions.
The Gamma G25 and G50 guitar combo amplifiers from Acoustic Control offer a surprising exception to this phenomenon, particularly during these times of rampant inflation, when it costs almost $200 to fill your gas tank.

I have a G25 and the pots are not smooth. It's almost like there are indents on some of them. Have you found this this be true with the one you have played with or do I have a defective one?
just bought a 25 look forward to using it as a bass amp.
But according to the Owner's Manual, the G25 has 20 watts of power, and the G50 has 30 watts of power. That's a huge difference, as far as the G50 is concerned.
I played through one at Guitar center I was blown away!
No efx loop? Then it can't handle od, dist.with reverb and delay..
I recently bought the 25. Mostly a home player and this is perfect.
I will tell you I am incredibly impressed with the sound. No trace of the typical sterile solid state tone. In fact very tube like. The EQ is very useful. The voices are useable as well. I haven’t yet used the Bluetooth feature. I usually keep it on the channel 1 clean, and use my pedals- which it takes like a champ. Honestly can’t stop playing it
Speaker isn't good. I brought this amp for the clean blue channel for pedals. I run it into 2 12 Line 6 celestion speakers right off the wires bypassing the 25's 10" speaker. Does alot better job that my late 90's 10watt practice amp.
I have the 25, it's plenty loud for bedroom practicing, and sounds really good with pedals as well
With all the different settings on the amp how much do you still have to change your pickups?
A great, simple amp that focuses on the right things. No modeling hoopla and a great speaker. These amps prove how integral a great speaker is to a great tone. You could have the mother of all boutique tube amps and if you play through crap speakers you get crap tone. Gamma have done it right here.
No effects loop. On a guitar amp like this you need to have it to have the distortion channels be usable.
Wow, excellent demo!
Do you need a footswitch to get to the other channel?
Man, Paul was doing these back when I was a teenager getting the CD Roms with the magazines. I'm 32 now and its cool to see him still doing this
Hey PAUL, have you heard a multieffects through this amp? I know you said it is the ideal platform but just wondering if you have actually heard it. Thanks.
This sounds really nice, but the lack of an onboard reverb was a big miss.
Would be great if this had footswitch for voicings
I just ordered my Gamma G-50 today… Could you maybe suggest a less expensive channel switch that might work for this amp?
Would the control knobs be considered chicken knobs? Thank you. I just bought the 50
Thanks for quick concise demo on two great budget amps that you don’t have worry or fuss with! Just plug and go!
Were you using a reverb pedal with either amp?
NO FX Loop , Not on a channel switching amps . Channel switch amps need an FX loop !!!
This is a great tone amp. I love the simplicity of this combo. I plan on purchasing a G50 for my Grandson for his 13th birthday. These are fantastic beginner and intermediate players amps. So many great tones without anything confusing or convoluted. Now the hard part, which Axe willHe choose?
Can you record directly out of the headphone jack on these? I have a Blackstar ID Core 10 with an “EM Out” jack which works great for direct recording so wondering if these can be used for that as well when you don’t wanna mic it?
Thanks Paul for the demo, It sounds really good have to admit Solid State amps are getting much better, I can see the simple function of this amp but maybe the next generation might have a great quality built in reverb circut and external foot switch to select the metal rock blues and clean on channel 2. I know they wanted to keep it simple but I see the advantages of foot switchable on a live gig on stage and an effects loop on the back yes the design will change and cost just IMO things I need when playing live. Competing aganist the Boss Katanna the Roland and Blackstar won't be an easy task and that's really making you think what product will fit your genre and playing style.
