  • Great channel man, I like the video- one point though, the ToneX 1 is not a modeler, it's a profiler- there's a difference, and trust me- the internet will let you know that. LOL- It's one of those things ppl like to argue about- which is better, profiles or models? Personally, I usually prefer models- but sometimes, if the capture is done really well, and the amp being captured was setup and mic'ed perfectly- the profile sounds just as good. The difference is that a profile is when a computer program usually running on a capture device of some kind takes a snapshot of an amp, whatever effects have been run through it, the cab, how it was mic'ed up, the room reverb, etc- and then uses this snapshot to extrapolate what it would sound like if you turned the gain down or up, if you adjusted the eq, etc. A model on the other hand is when someone literally builds a digital model of each component of an amp- the eq section, the gain stage, etc., etc. and then puts it all together to create a digital model of the overall amp. If you have a Tonex 1 and you want to profile your own amps or your friends' amps- then you need a capture box. This is what actually profiles the amp, it then creates a file you can put on the Tonex 1. That said, you don't have to capture your own or anyone else's- you can go online and download captures other ppl have done. Anyway- don't mean to split straws with you- good luck with the channel.
