GET “BETHEL” BASS TONE — PART 1 (PEDALS)
DONT MISS PART 2: https://youtu.be/Hy2umDHJOF0?si=_85HanWsoy61gjJT
THIS IS HOW I’VE LEARNED TO CRAFT MY BASS TONE over the last several years of being a part of Gable Price and Friends, Bethel Music, playing at church, and tracking for various songs and projects.
IN PART 1, I’ll talk you through how I approach my tone with the physical gear that I use — My Bass, Strings, Picks, Pedals – ALL OF IT! There is method to the madness! (Spoiler: it involves a lot of fuzz)
PART 2 is where we’ll take it over to Pro Tools and talk about how I treat Bass once I’ve recorded it.

I need a video of this but with free daw plugins since I'm broke ????
Hey David,
Can you maybe show is your settings on the Moog ?
I would love some subbass stuff!????
The Microsynth is analog.
Also, for anyone who would rather not put out the money for a Tone Hammer or similar, the Joyo Tidal Wave is a sort of clone to a SansAmp, sounds great (more transparent than Joyo’s Monomyth), has an XLR out, headphone jack, and a nice drive that can be dialed in. Amazon: $77. Joyo Scylla compressor also fine for bass.
Hi David, i love the raw sound of.your bass. I own a MIM Jazz Bass V, but it does not sound too deep on lows as yours, it has the stock pickups, cound that be the issue or the bass itself? Or maybe i need to add the Lorall Neck pickup to make it sound big? Greetings. Great tone by the way.
Bro can you please make an HX stomp patch for this board? I know you got the skillz ????????????????????????????????????????
Dad bass tone! ???????????? 5:10
Does that DI box have compression or do you not use compression because of all the dirt fuzz pedals?
David, if you only had a Squier PJ bass. How would you use the pickups? Only precision pick ups with tone 100%?
4:14 = bye.
Great video!
Do you use compression?Rare to watch a worship genre board rundown lately without a Cali76. Love this setup you’ve got. Immediately grabbed a V1 Kilt off Reverb to pair with my Noble and MicroSynth.
Thats awesome David!????
Im about to build nearly the same setup, because I love bethels Interpretation about bass tone.
Any guys of you know how to solve the problem with the Microsynth, David mentioned ?
Because I have it and its awful????
And David which Powersupply do you use for the board?
Thank you for the video! ????
do you use the 60s or 70s era j bass pickups? I know from a video Mat Ogden uses the 70s, so I don't know which one to get. 70s era has more bass and midrange. But if you do have the 60s, do you think a high wind in the bridge would be pretty good?
"YANOWUDAMIN?"
What a guy! awesome tone, bringing a new tone to worship bass’s I like it ????
Did you put a regular single coil pickup in the bass or noiseless?
✍people✍hear✍low end✍in✍the✍midrange✍
I’ve used a tone hammer for years and never used the AGS. That dad comment cut like a knife!
David, thank you! You’re appreciated ????????
I thought I was the only one with that cutting in and out issue on the Microsynth????
What power requirements does the old micro-synth have? I’ve been having the same issues with loosing aggression.
Man, I feel like you’re reading my mind about what you’re looking for in your tone. Thanks so much for putting this out there for everyone. Gotta pick me up a tone hammer now…..
