  • I find the 45th anniversary offerings by G&L underwhelming. Previous anniversary models have had special appointment like my 30th ASAT Special does. The only think these 45th models offer is limited availability and a small engraving on the back of the head stock. I expected a bit more from a "special" celebration model. Maybe the 50th will be better.

  • A buddy of mine has an LB2500. Swamp ash and translucent green. Bought new about 20 years ago. It's the only bass I've played that matches my custom ones. We have an agreement. If something happens to the other I get the G&L and he gets my custom Carvin and Kiesel basses.

  • In my quest for TOAN, I came across G&L during Baroness’s Purple promo videos. I found an asat bluesboy in blueburst and purchased it immediately. During COVID, I sold it. When things calmed and I got promoted at work, I went looking for a similar ASAT, and, lo and behold, my exact guitar was for sale by someone else. I snatched it up immediately and plan on keeping it forever. It’s got some mojo to it I can’t describe. Love G&L instruments!

  • What if I want a super distortion in the bridge? I don’t see how that’s possible with those crooked pickups. I don’t want a Geetar that I can’t upgrade pickups if I want to. Did Leo Fender create those crooked pickups?

  • Great video. I love G&L’s, have four Tribute Series, absolutely amazing guitars for the price, even at twice the amount I would still say that. One day I will get a US made G&L, again quality for price can’t be beaten.

  • 4 out of my 5 basses are USA G&Ls. Probably the most overlooked and underrated guitars EVER!!

  • I had the opportunity to tour the G&L facilities several years back and they were extremely kind and gracious with their time. I’ve only purchased G&L electrics since then. Much love for this company. They really do care about their product’s quality.

  • Just happen to have my Fullerton Deluxe ASAT resting on my leg right now. Best Tele I've ever played or owned.

A few years ago, I was trying, once again – in vein, to 'thin the herd', and put up one of my EBMMs for sale. Instead of selling the Luke 3, I ended-up accepting a trade and got a sweet Fullerton Deluxe Legacy as well as a Gretsch 6120. Love that Legacy as much as my ASAT.

G&Ls are absolutely fantastic instruments. Great interview!

  • I'm playing my lefty G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Buesboy as this wonderful interview plays. The neck on it is so comfortable. I might splurge on an American model since I love mine so much. Thank you for the interview.

  • I love my G&L ASAT Classic Tribute thinline which I bought from … Sweetwater !! I ordered it when I saw it on the Sweetwater website because I thought it looked like it might be a special Sweetwater run. Whether or not it was a special run, it sounds and plays fantastic.

  • Breaking Don’s string on a V style at Sweetwater was a highlight of my employment there. He was as cool about it as you’d expect.

  • For what it’s worth, Don Carr sold me on a Comanche when G&L first came on board. Took a while, stewing in my brain to make the leap of faith. Just pulled the trigger on Black Friday prices. And wow oh wow. She’s a stunner. Thanks to all involved.

  • Leo fender made an active preamp circuit that took 6 AA batteries in 1965? For which guitar before CBS

  • I've got an Espada which is an amazing guitar along with several others and as soon as the UPS guy shows up today I'll have an SC-2. Every video with these guys, I am in awe of how they are so committed to the Legacy of Leo and how they want to continue his legacy. Their dedication and commitment to Phyllis Fender is heartwarming as well.

  • I have an L-2000, an SB-1, a Comanche, and an ASAT Special. They're all outstanding and I've got almost all the basses covered. I just need to get a Doheny to round it out.

  • I got a G&L 80's model not sure year, had to make house payment!!
Anyways, it was S-500 and Rosewood Fretboard, I think that the pickups were adjustable so they had Allen head screws in the pickup as the magnet poles! Loved that bridge, color was a darker maroon color with a black pick guard, but I ONLY have a ASAT Blues boy thinline semi hollow really like it but want to put in a better Neck Humbucker pickup.
Hoping to buy a S-500 or New Espada or. Comanche. Thanks G&L. For keeping the line going????❤️???????????? Your Music-In-Law

  • Recently acquired a Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Classic Custom and I’m in love. My next guitar will most definitely be another G&L, probably a Fallout.

  • I've listened to the brothers' stories about G&L and Leo Fender a few times before, but I never get tired of them. They seem to have at least one thing I've never heard before every time. Great guitars, great company.

  • Man, what a fascinating interview! I knew bits and pieces of the story but that was incredible. I sure hope this video is saved forever. I have a 1983 MusicMan Stingray bass that will never leave my family. It was a gift to me from my wife when we were pretty poor. Don’t know how she was able to pay for it but she did. I also have a 2001 G&L Legacy HD. Have the G&L hand wound single coils and a JB in the Bridge. That bridge and trem system is the best. I have a 2004 G&L Will Ray Special which is an ASAT body with hopped up Z coil pickups, swamp ash body, b bender and skull inlays. It’s the most beautiful guitar I own and then had to have the ASAT Bluesboy. I love everything Leo did from Fender all the way to G&L. I even named my dog Leo. A little much but it’s ok! Thanks for this incredible video and thanks to MusicMan and G&L for fabulous musical instruments!
