Grateful Dead “Ripple” Acoustic Guitar Lesson
Tabs for this and all my popular lessons at: https://goo.gl/D0wU88
Hello friends,
And welcome to another by request song tutorial. Thanks to popular demand, I’ve created a complete guitar lesson for the Grateful Dead’s 1970 classic “Ripple.” In this free tutorial, I’ll break down my approach to combining Jerry Garcia’s rhythm and lead guitar parts for the intro, and the chord changes and strumming options for the verse and chorus sections. Let’s get started!

Great song. How can I get the sheet music?
Great tutorial Rob.
Si Nice song
This song is made with a key of C or G ???? Thanks
Love the lessons but live that guild as much if not more! ????
Beautiful i love that song you play it so well and teach it!!!! Thank you for sharing.
too many commercials dude wow!
You're doing your fingering for the G different than I usually do. Do you always do your open G like this or is their something about the fingering for this song that it makes more sense to use this fingering? I'm more used to index finger 2nd fret of A string, middle finger 3rd fret of the top E string and ring finger on 3rd fret bottom E string.
Beautiful brother. Thanks for sharing it with us
Terrific lesson! The intro has been challenging. Just working on first couple lines. It will come slowly but surely. Challenging but making me a better guitarist. ????
You got an amazing voice and mad skills bro damn beautiful ❤❤
Dude, your song was great, I enjoyed it a lot. Now, time to grab my box guitar.
Love your method of teaching guitar compared to a lot of other people on YouTube, breaking down the theory in detail measure by measure is a huge. Also you do really well with the videography, very professional with your lighting, multi camera angles and sound. It's also great that you play the full version of the song that you are teaching people, it makes it much more fun to play the music along with you after learning the song.
You nailed this!
Wtf lol
Parts like 8:18 get me so confused because you’re just cutting it off in the middle of the riff and like moving on? Like what
Great job rob awesome voice bro!!!
Great job. Maybe other comments have noted but in the second measure of line one you say open B, then second fret G string and then say open G string but you do not play the open G you play and meant to say open B string
.
Please do more Grateful Dead. Loving it.
What model of Guild is this? Sounds amazing.
first line 5:40 3 and 4 6:28 5 7:30
Line 2: 8:40 9:50
Line3 : 11:03 3 and 4 11:30 5 12:27
line 4: 13:43 2-3 14:30
verse: 16:40
Excellant, soooo good.
Just an awesome lesson. You bring life to the material and pass that life along! Somewhere there is a smile Jerry’s face. “Thank you” comes up short but it is most sincere.
Wow, this was actully extreemly helpful o.o props man, even tho i wrote your tab out exactally, i wont post, more people need to see this video and we need more lessons/people with this quality of work put into them!
6:36 Should be open B
I have been playing guitar for several years now. I have to say that this is by far one of the best sites. You are clear, accurate, well spoken, well structured and to the point. Peace !
this is good
Awesome job man! Please keep it up, you are the most comprehensive music teacher on Youtube.
At 6:37, I think there is a mistake. You say open G when you mean open B.
Dear god how is this so long?…
Can you do more The Grateful Dead songs please
Great great performance, invisible backup singers. Awesome melody,
hi Rob, fantastic lesson as usual. i'm spoiled for choice which one to start from, "homeward" bound could be the next one.
Signed up for tabs for this song and cant access web site. Anyone know where to go?
That's a great picture of Jerry Garcia in the background. I didn't know he sailed.
My OCD won't let me watch this video. Please fix your carpet.
Thank you for singing on the track. So many lesson's don't sing the words and you lose a lot.
your amazing rob !
Awesome!!!!!!!
