Guitar Amp Sim Comparison – Free vs Expensive | Neural DSP vs ML Sound Lab vs NaLex vs Ignite amps

Hey !Comparing all Neural DSP plugins with some other amp sims that you can get for free. I turned off cab section in all plugins and used GGD zilla cabs (Nolly heavy perfection preset) in all of them. Hopefully this comparison allows you to decide which Neural DSP you like the best and if it is worth to pay for plugins – considering that the free ones are good enough in most cases. Let me know what do you think 🙂

  • Man, amp sims are so amazing. I got into playing last Christmas, so a year ago now, after a decade of not playing. I left playing when line 6 spiders and pods were still all around, and came back to amazing units like axfx, line 6 helix, and all these amazing VSTs.

  • Abasi sounds absolutely massive and that defition / string separation, god damn. Also, the Amped Roots is so damn good for something that's completely free, and it comes with an alright sounding IR but obviously the really good IR's in the Zilla collection are even better

  • This is a good era for guitarists….realistically when it comes to the amp sim world all you need is quality impulse responses and even the free ones ll do a great job….having said that its cool to get a couple of paid ones just dont go….amp sim happy cause you ll end up spending a lot of money for…no good reason whatsoever…..for example i have the mercuriall SS-11x …got it on sale for 25 bucks and it can get basically any sound you want and compare it against anything plus kuassas caliburn for all the marshalls…i can get some of the Neural dsp no doubt(they are also great) but i dont see any extra…prowess plus you get in the habit of spending extra hundreds which you could save up and buy a next level audio interface that ll REALLY make a difference in your sound or better speakers that ll help you listen better at your mixes etc etc etc….

So in this era…..pretty much any plugin would do with quality impulses….

  • me gustan los de neural, sobre todo el archetype nolly, me gusta esa distorcion cortante, anqué todos son bastante buenos.

  • I really like it! I actually struggled to get that articulated tone with Fortins, whereas Abasi sounded very muffled in your example, probably not the best settings. What do you think is the best ampsim (s) for clarity/decent note separation when doing chords on higain?

  • Stumbled on your video, really love this! I already have Emissary and Amped Roots but almost never use the former (you can say I kind of forget I even have that LOL), but this vid blows my mind that both of them sound amazing and solid. Thanks a lot man!

  • The Nalex pectifier and ninja would have been good to include. Check em out. They all sound great. To my ears I like the good ole Fortin Nameless for a paid plugin on this track. It bites and cuts through well. But Roots does really well and my pick of the fee bunch. I love these type of videos! ????
