Guitar Pedal Review: Rockson Chorus Compared with a Boss CE-2 Chorus Pedal by Eddie de Hamer

Eddie de Hamer of GuitarTutorLeeds compares a Rockson Chorus with a Boss CE-2 chorus pedal.
The Rockson Chorus is basically a copy of the CE-2. The Rockson brand also brought out a Metal Rocker, Distortion, Super Over Drive, Flanger, Phaser, Delay and a Compression Sustainer pedal. All pedals do have a metal casing and do have sturdy controls. Some of these pedals can be found under other brand names such as Maxx and Maxxtone.

For this review the pedals are checked for their full range and some sounds in between the max. and minimum range. When you listen to the video you will discover that both pedal do contain a very similar sound.

The Boss CE-2 is fairly well-known pedal users whereas the Rockson may not be so popular.

Here is Chorus article which accompanies this video: https://www.guitartutorleeds.com/chorus-effects-a-brief-guide/

  • i got a rockson overdrive boss clone for like 45 dollars and i aint complaining LOL
(for reference they normally sell at 80-90 dollars… which is insane for some weird vintage clone pedal no one knows about)

  • I've had a Rockson chorus since the mid 90's and I have never been able to convince myself to spend any more money on another one. Excellent "ripoff" pedal!

  • I currently have two rockson mods with M5218 op amps and it is the best chorus by far!

  • I got one just today for 10 bucks it sounds pretty close to the BOSS CE-2, it's not in mint condition it has lot of scratches that vintage look, so I´m cool with that, it does the job, plus it's connected to an Orange Crush 30r which enhances its sound effect. What else can I ask for?!?!??!
