In part one of a three-part video interview with Guitarist magazine, guitar virtuoso Guthrie Govan shows us his latest Charvel prototype electric guitar – which he says is close to becoming a production model – and puts his pedalboard through its paces, including the brand new TC Electronic Hall Of Fame Mini Reverb.
Guthrie’s amplifier throughout is a brand new Victory V100 Duke, which he is currently using on tour with Steven Wilson. Stay tuned for a full demo of the Victory V100 from Guthrie and an in-depth look at the retro-style Floyd Rose vibrato on his new Charvel.
Issue 374 of Guitarist magazine features a special Guthrie Govan cover feature, in which the guitar star discusses his future plans with Charvel, technique and new musical horizons. Check it out in print and digital forms from 18 October 2013.

I seriously believe he should be knighted. Sir Guthrie Govan. I’d also offer him keys to any city in England.
It’s small and sounds like a duck … perfect ????
3:50 – both of the knobs go up to eleven! ????
9 years ago, huh
I could sit and listen to Guthrie for hours, guitar and commentary.
This man is so smart and ahead of everyone that he is funny without even trying. For me the best guitarist that has ever been.
????
The Jerry Cantrell wah is literally the perfect wah pedal
"It's small, it sounds like a duck, what's not to like?" Bwahahaha
“Standard car chase mode”. Love that.
I think we can all agree that Guthrie is a phenomenal guitarist. The fact that he has such finesse, an obvious knack in acquiring tone. . .and understands the persuit of clarity with any and all of his effects, just optimizes his otherworldly playing ability!
Rick Beato brought me here. Genius level guitar player.
I have that same blue charvel next to the Amp
LOL chuckling away at this. Such an entertainer
HI
I hear Jimi Hendrix!
Shalom to us only in Christ Yeshua returning soon to reign over the world governments from Jerusalem. SO it is written so let it be done.
So willing to share. An eloquent, humble, virtuoso wizard on electric guitar. Watching his other videos on YouTube, His (capital intended) playing is so smooth, clean, precise, rapid fire. OMG. The pinnacle.
funnier than most comedians i've seen, lol, love Guthrie!
Its small It quacks like a duck
what's not to like
Gold!!
2:18 “…Some Roman stole it from me…”
He’s talking about the time in Italy when the van with all his music gear broken into and lots of valuable stuff was stolen.
Surprised how calm he is about it, I wonder what his reaction was!
I would be furious… absolutely furious.
Guthrie: makes guitar quack
Some Roman: …QUACK!??
I was disappointed that we didn't get hear Guthrie talk through his pedal board.
"We like the ditto pedal" – we being the alien inside guthrie's hands and guthrie himself
Guthrie is incredibly talented and humble. Thank so much for sharing. One of my favorite guitarists ever.
Guthrie can really play the guitar
4.37
If this whole music thing doesn't work out for Guthrie, he could always go into public speaking. ????????
did he play pokemon with the volume pedal swell??
.
Guthrie out here playing the play station theme 8:03

thumbs down candy sellers
Those DAMN Romans!!!! How could they steal his WR3 pedal!!!!!
Which song is he referring to when talking bout the metal one?
Didn’t realize, artistically speaking, him and I are similar in ways.

What a precious man
"Sometimes its nice to go to… wow not that. thats terrible!" hahah
I want Guthrie Govan on TEDx Talks
Man, 7 years ago huh
Lol….in the 60s the Brits actually made education free to all who could cut it. Mick Jagger went to the London School of Economics (think Harvard business school)….McCartney and Harrison met at grammar school ( high school for brainy kids), Brian May has a PhD in Astrophysics, John Deacon a degree in electrical engineering. Elton John attended the Royal Academy of Music. Genesis formed at Charterhouse….best prep school in UK (along with Eton & Harrow). Joe Strummers dad was a diplomat who sent him to a boarding prep school. Bunch of well educated rockers.
I know you all guys thinks he's God…
But….I don't like his tone and vibrato…sorry!!! Kill me!!!!????
A beautiful Harley Benton!!!????????????
Amazing but poor filming.
In other words lots of trickery with fancy effects pedals?
A lot of the best guitarists the sound is all in their fingers, plugging direct into the amp.
"Hours of fun there" ^^
stops the looper pedal, talks some more and pics up the loop again. IN TIME. Jeeez
