  • Hey guys, just a note on the Vocal Processing tools in this unit. I am not a vocalist, have no idea what constitutes good vocal effects, and honestly will never use them. Therefore I felt it best not to comment on them with an uninformed opinion. As a Guitarist I consider them a happy bonus! : )

  • Would you recommend the core unit over the prime unit? I already have a boss expression pedal that I really like so I wouldn’t miss that. I’m currently running a pod go but am looking to upgrade.

  • Sorry to bother you again. Downloaded the manual and went thru it-Was going to pull the trigger-But for "live" use-I have to purchase a FRFR speaker?
They all look like PA monitors: Reviews state: Laney and Headrush-too boxey, too boomy, Fender FRFR-constant "hiss", Friedman FRFR-too heavy, too $$$

And on top of all this> Spending 1300$ to have "the best tones" and you have to "dial-in" the EQ on these individual speaker units???
    WTF??

So, I guess it's not about the HRP and its tones/cabs/captures/IR's. It's dependent on the speaker system you need!

May I please have an alternative to these FRFR's? About to spend 1300 dollars, and was expecting the tones from the HRP to be good for what I want-But you need to get a "specialized" speaker system for live use??

So any speaker connected to HRP is going to have to be EQ'd-either at the speaker (FRFR) or in the individual rig within HRP you are selecting.
That Marshall/Dumble/Vox rigs that come with the HRP are going to sound different due to not having a proper FRFR speaker system?
    Oh WTF!!

  • I've seen guys say they've been unable to clone certain amps with the QCortex, no rhyme or reason, just doesn't like a certain amp here and there.

  • Can you import a .WAV file from DAW into HRP and play along with it?
I wanted to do a small venue as a 1-man band and wanted some custom backing tracks of my original music to play along with.

  • Great review and killer toned and awesome playing. We currently are looking for a great modeler for recording our album and live. I m new into the modeling world. What would be the best one to go. Headrush seems verry full featured and pro sounds. I like it for its touchscreen easy navigation. I m comparing helix. I nead many amp and studio reverbs

  • As always great review, and your prediction was correct. HR Core to the rescue. Smaller form factor Just got it a couple days ago. The tones are great especially the re-valve heads. I also would love to see an open market made avail through the cloud. I have friends that are builders and now I finally have the tech to be able to keep their creations during R&D.

Love your HR content, keep it coming!

    I am chilled

  • Would you still recommend this? I'm trying to find an upgrade from a Spark Mini, and I'm torn between this or go Neural DSP Nolly.

  • Really enjoyed your review, many thanks! I love what I am hearing from my unit so far. I had the Helix, but imho, I always thought it sounded a touch hollow. I also have the GT1000, and love the sounds from that, but find it frustrating to program. I’m finding it really easy to dial in sounds that I like on the Prime, and this has some of the best presets of any unit. Would love to see some tutorials on how to create scenes and setlists, that go through a bit more detail from what I have seen in some recent videos. Loved your playing, too! Thanks again.

  • I see your point but I hope they don’t set up a marketplace on the Headrush. Because I feel if they did that over time pretty much any amp you wanna get off the cloud would be for sale and very few free ones. And that’s one of the most attractive things to me is that not only do I get the unit but for no extra money I can get a high quality clone of pretty much any amp I want right on the unit. That’s just my opinion but I definitely see where your coming from as well.

  • I have a helix and i have been recently given a gig board. Both sound great. But one thing I know of line 6 is constant updates, that is one thing headrush should be taking very serious. I also think HR should have improved the sounds a bit more. I will jam the gig board today again.

  • As a Previously Mx5 and now a Gigboard user, i'm just waiting for the Gigboard Prime version of this monster, great video as always, cheers mate!

  • I recently acquired a Prime two weeks ago. My previous Multi FX unit was a Pod Go Wireless. I think the Prime is worth the price of entry. It does everything I need it to do, sounds really good, and the touchscreen is easy to navigate and create.

  • Good review! I've got a Prime and really glad.
I will wait for your new Prime tutorial videos… expression pedal configurations could be a good tutorial one! 😉

  • Dude, I would LOVE if they released an MX5 Prime and removed the vocal effects & channel. I feel like they could even use a TRS mini jack for the fx loop and limit the unit so it can't make amp models but it can load them. I'd still like to make them if possible, but people with an MX5 sized budget probably don't have amps or mics to setup the clones anyway. MX5 retails for $400 US. I'd happily pay $550 for the MX5 formatter, the DSP upgrade and the ability to load amp clones.

  • Hello! Do you know whether Headrush going to make a smaller version of Prime such they did Gigboard (smaller version of Pedalboard)?

  • Just got the prime yesterday, but due to work not played with it yet, is this system best through the amp or into a pair of 112 frfr speakers

  • Just invested in the Headrush ecosystem, I've got an MX5 but this video gives me good insights into their system. Awesome production quality on the vid too! Thanks. ????????????????

  • Great production quality mate. I appreciate your objective and well thought out approach to reviews. I just ordered one of these earlier today because I think it offers incredible prospects for the lifecycle of the product. There’s great tech in this system and I think it will drastically improve over time with firmware updates. (I have confidence in InMusic because of the amazing progress they’ve made on the Denon DJ Prime4 with EngineDJ since firmware 2.0. Seeing as this is aimed to compete with the flagship big-dogs, I have no doubt this device will receive great care and attention in its lifespan.) I’ve not used much hardware modeling yet, and was originally planning to get an HX Stomp XL, but was seriously intrigued by this product that I splurged and went for it. My use case will be exclusively studio so the large form factor is actually a plus for me. It may not be for everyone, but I think this will be a game changer, much like the Helix was in its early days. Keep up the great work.

  • Thank you for the video and for the planned series 🙂
I'm about to buy a floor modeller this year and your video has been rather helpful to me.

    A little question remained though.
Headrush as a company is suprisingly silent right now. Especially with a new unit out on the market. I must admit that I'm a bit worried about this.
What are your thoughts on this?
I would rather not want to invest in a system that may not be supported for much longer, or that the parent company does not regard as a good product.
    Thank you a lot 🙂
