it's always a battle with me between Warwick and Spector….. both are amazing.
love that bass
ive tried various techniques & it sound like a wack thump on a $40 guitar from toy r us ????????♂️
Looks like your parallel technique of down/up translates well to “double picking” with a plectrum.
My thumb bends at 85 degrees like Jaco P. & Chuck R., so it’s easy for me to slap parallel & pop with multiple fingers, also emulating Stanley C. & Alphonso J. as best I can.
The double-thumb is one of my favorite "tricks."
the sound tho …..wow!!!!!
Thank you for this video!!
Do one one the pop
THANK you! I'm a guitarist and can play menial bass lines but would like to learn more. In that endeavor, I've subscribed.
I was just thinking a couple days ago (yesterday?) that I should take a look at some bass tutorials.
Maybe the Google has stopped listening to our conversations and is now hearing my thoughts. In addition to your vid, Charles Berthoud appeared after a lengthy hiatus from my feed.
Down thumb is the only way I can slap fast and easily, but as you said when I get to the high strings I can't really use it to slap but is pop at that point anyway so it doesn't really matter.
You make it look so easy
BEHS
Thanks again teacher ????????????????????????????????????
Please post the tab for the slap bass line that you played at the end. That was AWESOME !
I love parallel ????
Bro that tone is SOOO GOOD WTF ????????????????????????????????????
Greatest most under appreciated bassist ever. FNM RULE.
Its a Dirty Job, but someone's gotta do it
He's stiff, make sure you're loose, it becomes machine like. Soulfully 101
You HAVE to make that face when rocking that slap finish!!
En un jazz bass te costaria un poquito mas…
thats not we care a lot thats the dirty jobs theme
bro summarized years worth of experience in 1 min
Great sounding bass
great lesson ???????????????????????? keep up the good work …
Ray always wondered how they did those double strokes… n now I know. Thanks
Man, I just can’t get my thumb to go straight through the string like that…
Faith no more????????
I down thumb, but ill go parallel on the higher strings
How the hell do you talk "slapping" without mentioning Larry Graham? HOW? THe inventor of the technique?
I'm just learning guitar, and that was a great lesson that I believe would be helpful when it comes to finger-picking which I I'm in the process of learning. Thank you!
Have you moved to the USA? ????
Lovely ❤
Yo you should talk about some Korn stuff, a lot of interesting bass stuff there
Thanks for explaining the benefits of the different thumb positions! I think I may try parallel now. I like a more consistent tone!
Thank you. Long time guitar player, just got my first electric bass.
Miller and King are the best at this and they don’t slap so…
best sound is to hit it hard over the jazz pickup on a PJ bass but only on the E string down thumbing it using all pickups
The best song for learning slap and have fun!
Spectors are for metal… lame
Great slap! But then you went so fast that I couldn't learn a thing. Slow it down pretty please!!
