yo man, I didnt know you use our stuff, this is amazing
Marry me
Regardless of the slight imperfections in extracting the vocals by the AI its amazing u still made it work really well. Honestly its a shame that the only truly available isolated vocals are from frantic and thats cuz it was a guitar hero song
Gotta admit that thumbnail drew in more traction on the remix video. Did a great job on it still. Really shows that the album has good songs, just terrible mix
Good stuff man! Definitely earned that like and subscribe from me. ????
maestro!!!!! btw, did you split the bass track into bass sub and bass high? thx
It would be cool to see a cover of the Symphoica 2 version of All Within My Hands as a actual ballad that goes into the heavy version from St Banger.
No fucking way!!! I've been listening to St. Banger on and off since you released it! And I'm an audio nerd! Is this real life??? Thank you, dude!!!
Each Metallica sound on every album reflects a time stamp of that period and this is what made each Metallica album sound unique.
St. Anger set a tone which spoke of a band no longer embattled with conflict, rather team work. Lars was afforded that snare sound, because James wanted Lars to be heard, this type of attitude allowed a return to form with an example of a band writing music together, without St. Anger sounding how it did, we wouldn't have Metallica return to form, grow as a band. It's a leap forward from how they treated Jason Newsted during the recording of …And Justice For All.
During the early 2000's Metallica were listening to a lot of Nu Metal bands (as they said during deleted scenes from the Some Kind of Monster documentary), which is no different to Bob Rock telling them to absorb all kinds of different music (which is what made the Black album sound so big as their influences were different from the youth-angst driven thrash metal), for example: Lars said they were listening to bands like; Meshuggah, Mudvayne, Linkin Park, Korn, Powerman 5000 (hence the Summer Sanitarium Tour) and those influences came through on St. Anger, this is also partly why Robert Trujillo was invited to join Metallica, because his sound suited what Metallica were hearing at the time, he was able to stay on as their longest serving bassist because of his laid back personality, as well he also didn't act like a fan, came up with unique, cool ideas – as heard on Death Magnetic.
The whole reason why Metallica released 72 Seasons is largely because he called Lars during the lockdown, wanted to start writing new music, which is why we got a new Metallica album faster than the time between Death Magnetic and Hardwired…to Self-Destruct.
While Metallica alienated a lot of their die hard thrash fans, they also gained a lot of new fans as St. Anger hit number 1 in 30 countries around the world, they gained a younger fan base, and they continued to grow. This is how Metallica have always stayed ahead of the game.
Their album does not need a remix to sound "better", because it sounded how they wanted St. Anger to come across.
Honestly St. Anger is one of my favorite albums…I’ve listened to St. [B]Anger many times and it’s sooooo fucking good honestly! Great job brother! Love your vision of the album it’s phenomenal
This goes way over my head! Your video starts with stems and goes deep from there. But how did you get the stems in the first place? It's been so long since I've played with mixing I'm not even sure I am using the right vocabulary. Stems = Bass, lead, FX, vocals, etc? Did Metallica actually release those? Or did you do a bunch of preprocessing to extract the individual instrument sounds? This is really good stuff!! And yah, there is a reason [b]anger took off… it actually sounds good. But the bottom line is Metallic wrote freaking awesome fast songs when they finally returned somewhat to their speed metal roots. St Anger was genius marred by typical poor sound decisions by Metallica. You literally fixed a work of art that was broken by that terrible snare. Can you fix Justice's bass problem and Magnetic's compression problem? I'm thinking that compression issue is not possible because some of the original signal is just lost, right? Anyway, bravo to you! Metallica should hire you for their next album!
I like how your mix sounds a bit darker than most metal mixes out there. Maybe this just mean I gotta get myself some warmer earphones, but this definitely feels more pleasant to listen, specially for longer periods of time
Thanks for doing this man, very interesting. I'd like to know more about your arrangements an the way it was re-recorded, mic's or all in the box etc 🙂 I'm just relistening to your mix and its still sick
dude this rules. i loved st banger. would love to collab with you some day
Sigma? Bro, i have that one and i can confirm is a great amp sim
I've always thought St Anger at it's core was a great album and it just needed a little extra love and care and your version blessed my feed last year. I can't thank you enough for the work you did with it.
Oh, nice.
Awesome stuff. Ive been mixing stuff for my sludge metal band and these kinds of videos are IMMENSELY helpful. I still listen to something from St Banger at least once a week
What??? No pots and pans for drums….. ????
Great job on mixing the album.
HELL YEAH!!!! GREAT VIDEO
