  • Great lesson, cheers. Wow what a lucky 15 year old kid you were getting a genuine Fender as a present. The best I managed apart from practicing on my older brothers Audition Guitar was when I was about 14 I got a dodgy Kay Les Paul Copy which I loved. I can remember spending many hours walking round Tin Pan Alley ogling The Gibsons and Fenders which as a teenager were way out of my price range.
When I was about 16 or 17 I did manage to save about 160 quid in 20 pence pieces believe it or not to buy my first ‘real’ guitar a Japanese Ibanez Blazer, still got it
Over the years I have managed to buy some fairly high end guitars but I guess there’s always one more you ‘need’

  • Hi Glen, really enjoying your stuff on YouTube having discovered you by the algorithm! I play in live gigs myself and find the sound guy is always after understanding what Max volume etc I’m likely to play at. For this reason I’ve always set my volume at an appropriate level and used pedals to provide a level of overdrive/ distortion where needed( again checked in the sound check). What you’re demonstrating if used live would mess the sound guys head up would it ? Or do you think the change from say a 3 setting to a max would be tolerable to the audience ? Sorry to ask but just wondering how such a potential change in volume would work? I’m also curious as regards settings on your amp. I know you’ve maxed out the volume but is the EQ affected or does this work best by maxing out the EQ as well ( forget of course the reverb etc). What I’m impressed by, and was especially by the previous Telecaster demo, was the massive tonal shift possible but as regards the amp is this just volume on the amp or is this also maxing out the EQ? I’ve subscribed a few days ago and catching up on some great stuff on your channel. It’s no nonsense, honest and decent guitar instruction that we all can gain from. Keep on posting ! Cheers !

  • Always enjoy your video’s, what’s your pick of choice? Do you use several?, I’ve been experimenting with them as 9 month player. Picks would make a good video. Thanks Steve ????????

  • Hello Glen, I agree with you, the sound universe of the electric guitar without using pedals is immense. Very good lesson, and I dare to say that you are one of the best Guitarists who have a YouTube channel. I had already asked this same question in a previous video where you were playing with a Telecaster, what gauge of strings do you use on this Fender Stratocaster? Sounds Great. Greetings from Colombia.

  • Great tips thank you Glen. Standing or sitting a strat is hard to beat for comfort and while pedals are cool it's easy to overlook the built in versatility of most electric guitars.
