How to play Acoustic Blues Guitar | Beginners Lesson (Part 1)
Aimed at beginners, this tutorial for acoustic blues guitar is Part 1 of the “How to play Acoustic Blues Guitar” series. This lesson and regular practice to learn these skills is the first step for you to become a creative blues guitar player. This tuition video will show you how to transform standard chord shapes into ones most suitable for blues guitar playing. The lesson difficulty will increase as the series progresses, only move on to the next part when you are ready. Start slowly and build up speed until you have a nice blues feel to your guitar playing. There is a link to Part 2 below. Hello sir, I really liked you video but i had one confusion.When i try to press chords (like E and A) my index finger stays in a tilted position towards 3rd fret and it really makes me wonder am i doing it right?…..hoping for a response
I only picked up a guitar for the first time a week ago and I was lost in the see of guitar lessons but non that really was the sound and heading I wanted to go in. I have started with the first cords most people start of with Em Asus and G, C and D. all still very challanging and not as rewarding as I hoped. Today, I thought I would try some blues to see if the entry level technique is different and I found your video. Thank you a million. I was able to play somewhat along but most importantly you showed me how to enjoy the guitar. Sorry for the long message. I just wanted to show my gratitude and say thank you for the amazing intro into blues. It warms the souls.

As a beginner teaching myself for 3 yrs now, find this lesson to my liking, and after watching it in it's entirety. I feel motivated to give it a go. I was counting 1, 2 long before you said it, an thanks for showing how to make a B, which I haven't learned also the new way of shaping E & A. Im curious to know tho, is on & off a Hammer motion?

Please keep in mind, there are auditory & visual learners but also people who combine both! I believe you’d have greater success combining learning techniques. I am biased because I learn by combining.

Hi Joe, I have started playing the blues following you. I noticed I was using my pinky instead of the ring finger. Should I correct this or is it ok because I feel my pinky is making it with ease. many thanks
