Similar to how your arpeggios outline chords, in the CAGED system, the chords outline scales. Now that you know all the basic chord shapes, you will be able to used this CAGED system to play major and minor scales up and down the neck. With each position in this system, you will find a new way to play one major or minor scale. In this series, we’re dealing with the C major and C minor scales.CAGED stands for:
* C – C Position (using the open C chord to outline the scale)
* A – A Position (using the open A chord to outline the scale)
* G – G Position (using the open G chord to outline the scale)
* E – E Position (using the open E chord to outline the scale)
* D – D Position (using the open D chord to outline the scale)
