How to play guitar CHORDS using SCALES

To play chords on the guitar — any chords in any key — you don’t have to memorize a bunch of chord shapes. Every chord is actually built using the underlying scale patterns in a key. So if you can play scales, you can also play chords … which you can then combine into progressions.

  • According to YouTube standards, that video should have teased what you covered in full and made me click a link, enter my email, and sign up for a course that would only be 50% off for the next 10 minutes if I wanted to unlock my music potential. Thank you so much for breaking the mold.

  • This is cool and all, but what if I wanted to play chords from different scales than just the major scales? Do I just get really really good at the caged system to the point where it's completely natural, then find the major scale version of the chord I want to play and just flatten or sharpen the notes to match the scale I want to be in?

  • This basic is very important without knowing scales and chords how and why pressing certain chords strings and strumming specific of them how the chord is creates and the scales and also individuals scales to learn this all is very important but nobody teaches like that like concepts my teacher immediately started teaching my chords and like a parrot I just started following without knowing what piano key I am playing on guitar ????

  • Great video. I'm definitely going to have to watch again, that was a lot to take in. Couple of questions, when you played the chords further up the neck, are they still open or do you have to put a barre down? And secondly, there were one or two occasions l couldn't see the chord.the fingerings were meant to convey. The G for example.

  • It my first time finding a good lesson like this, though it kinda hard for me to understand all of this, I still will be able to use it because this is what i am asking for life now. hehhe
I downloaded it and gonna rewatch as much untiI I understand it all while practice the chord.
It definitely the legit lesson I am trying to find.????

It just came up to my mind that I believe that this the very foundation of learning guitar than learning chord one by one.

  • Oh ok, I get it a little more now, like the piano, if you know the 3 notes to make that chord, they repeat up and down the fretboard, and if you know the shapes of those chords, you can cross reference those with other chords or barre those in reference to its relative chord shape or position. ????????

THIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR ???? YES !

Now I can make my own songs, starting with single note melodies and then create the chord in that position or octave higher or barre the chord to get the sound I want all over the fret board wow !

    CAGED !!!! Got it …… ????

AWESOME JOB MIKE GEORGE ???????? ????????
