  • So that’s why my high gain loops sounded muddy. I use to just plug it right in front using the amp’s distortion. Thought it was normal. Lesson learned, thank you!

  • Thanks for making this video. Just bought a loop Station and had no idea why it sounded the way it did. Now it makes sense.

  • Hi Ben, been watching you for a long time. Txs for all the videos.

****QUIZ**** Can anyone tell me if it is normal with my new Roland JC-40 the amp chorus can't be recorded in my Boss RC-500 connected last via the FX Loop, but you can record the amp distortion. Although, if you use the looper for playing backing tracks, the amp chorus effect is affecting the track :o( and also you can't use the amp chorus (and reverb) like a pedal and record them in the looper. Those 2 amp effects come last no matter what. Did they SCREW this up?

  • Thanks for this video. It helped me a lot as a beginner with looper pedals. I also have put it now in the FX Loop of my amp, since I wanted to record loops with one sound and then switch to another sound without affecting the recorded loop. But I don't really understand why this is not working with the looper placed in front of the amp?! This way the sound of my loops changed when other pedals were switched on or off.

  • Ben, could you lay down a clean loop, stop and then send the output to the aux in socket then play a crunch lead after. I know it's a bit clunky but just asking.

  • I have my Boss looper plugged into the effects loop in the back and my loops are still effected when I put effects on.
My loops are effected by whatever I do, if I record them with reverb and than listen to it, The reverb is taken off when I turn reverb off on the panel.
I have a boss katana artist. Anyone know what’s going on?

  • Hey man I’m a bit late, but I just can’t get any sound to come out..

So I’ve plugged in my guitar -> loop pedal input A (mono), loop pedal output A (mono) -> input on amp, turned everything on and I just get really bad static sound.. why is this?

  • Can I connect my looper into the input of amp, where I plug my guitar normally?

  • I use a multi effects pedal with two frfr powered speakers. The effects pedal has effects loop, but frfr speakers don’t. Can I run my looper through the multi effects pedal the same way as your first example?

  • okay, so, i got a loop pedal, but i only have a single input hole in my amp. how do i set it up?

  • Really useful video, I have a blackstar id core v2 and it doesn't have an effects loop so i din't know if i could use a loop pedal. Now I know I can use the solution 2 if I want gain, but it should be ok if I just use it to practice my jazz standards with chords in the loop.

  • Hey man!!!
    Great videos!
I have a question on syncing via MIDI.
I have RC-300 and KORG Kaoss Pad 3. I want to take midi signal from boss midi out and to control Korg Kaoss beat tempo. How can I sync BPM in my loopstation loops with beats in Korg? Please, please, please!! I really need your help! I've read BOTH Boss and Korg manuals, but it tells nothing (((((((((((

  • Just as I ran into this problem yesterday when loosing all definition due to an overdriven sound. For now no need for an amp with effects loop 🙂
