  • Worship music is like hip hop polka. Useless.

It needs to stop, enoughs enough.

Jesus would crucify himself again if he could from all the bad worship music.

    Please stop

  • Gospel music is church music and you rarely hear distortion or effects on bass lol….this is just Rock music

  • This sounds awesome!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge of gear and love for Jesus!!! I myself ran into some financial issues about a year ago and had to sell all of my gear. I had a line 6 helix floor and Fender American Pro 2 P-Bass. I'm currently searching for new gear to buy within the next year and stumbled upon your video. I was looking for a Jazz or PJ this time around, maybe a Sire, and something similar to the helix without having to lug that big boy around. I felt like the HX stomp had too many limitations and needed the stomp xl or helix lt but your video proved me wrong. I'll definitively be building my next board exactly how you have it here and you for sure have a new subscriber because I want to keep up with your new videos. Do you plan on making future videos showcasing the board as in what it sounds like not in a mix or how you wire it for guitar compared to bass? If so that would be awesome! Keep up the good work and God bless!

  • This tone rips! My brother and I also use an HX Stomp on our bass pedalboard, although in a bit of a different context cuz we needed a power amp to drive a cab… the Stomp + a Darkglass Exponent 500 on one pedalboard is absolutely crushing!

"Wait but if you have a Stomp why use an E500?" Great question, actually I'm using the Stomp as both a pre- and FX loop for the E500, since I have an 1176 and Digitech Drop pitch shift, also known as the Deluxe Comp and Poly Capo in the Stomp respectively (usually at -2, I'm tuned to D standard on my bass so I have songs in C covered just fine) going into the amp and then having a mild EQ and a Sansamp (called the ZeroAmp on the Stomp) clean boost that's more or less always on in the FX loop. It's kinda overkill to say the least but the tone is incredible! And the best part is that the E500 plus the Stomp fits snugly on a mid-sized pedalboard at less than 15 pounds.

But back to the point. The HX Stomp is such an awesome tool for bass… I think it's definitely a must-have, essential tool for the current-day church bassist if you can afford it! The bass really is an integral part of a Sunday morning's music, and done right, it's a great way to lead the congregation in worshiping our King!

EDIT: added the names of the Line6 emulations of the comps and FX used within the Stomp!

  • I have the same setup brother and it is killer. I do have the Tonex MIDI connected and that way I can recall a certain preset on the Tonex with one foot switch on the HX Stomp. Keep Praising!

  • This sounded great! I love to setup too. Helix+Tonex is a really great pairing. A great mix of tried and true gear and new stuff. Plus showing off the usability of Squier stuff ????????‍????????

  • Depends on the church I’m playing with. I use flats at some, rounds at others, and occasionally tape wounds. I play 4, 5, and 6 string basses. I use amps, or preamps/DI, and sometimes a full pedal board.
