He can carry the notes as good as he can lift them
You can tell his fretting fingers are so strong and yet nimble enough to get all those fast notes .Also note how close he keeps his fretted fingers to the fretboard..His fingers never raise up high …something a classical teacher taught me a long time ago and he noted that Brian May also used this technique.

Melodic soloing is best all of this sweep picking and machine gun fire note delivery is garbage. I guarantee you you will more than likely remember a solo from a Bryan Adams song than any of this noise created on the strings by some of these players that are brainwashed into thinking that’s how you have to play guitar????????♂️????????♂️????

Part of the trick is relaxing both hands as much as possible and focus less on the notes, sounds and more on syncing the two hands together WITH a metronome or beat. Trust your body and brain, relax your hands and few you way on your right hand or pick hand flowing wherever on the strings and left hand free to match.

That first descending chromatic scale he uses in his first ‘speed picking’’ book (1990) with cassette and it drove me bonkers for months! No one could copy it and live.
The older he gets, the faster he shreds.
Its funny when Rick recently called a Matteo Mancuso lick 'impossible' to play with a pick. Rick knows full well that a) a lot of Matteo's runs are Gambale inspired and b) Gambale could 100% play them as he not only has the sweeps but the clean barre sweeps technique too required.
