  • Would love a full rosewood special double cut. Wonder what the cost of it is compared to mahogany?

  • I am old enough to have bought some of those Gibson picks in the 70s. The catalogues / price lists are so cool. We had a magazine over here called Music UK where you could order price lists, etc. I went kind of nuts when i was in a rented house in College. Somewhere in Bognor Regis a house is probably still getting Aria catalogues ????

  • I bought one of those in the 80s, just had the Gibson logo, and I played that guitar for years, stayed in tune all night at gigs, and it sound great through my twin reverb fender amp, miss those days!!!

  • Lol! That Sonix sign and guitar showed up in my local Craigslist and I instantly thought that it would end up on Trogly's show. The guitar is still for sale! Lol!

  • Dang! That sign and the Blackfoot signed sonex was up on Craigslist upstate ny for a long time. Did not wanna pay the premium. Great score!

  • 9:20 i love going through old parts listings from days gone by.
I remember going into this old hardware store in Melbourne, Australia in the early 1980s that had been there for a 100 years. They had all sorts of old tools and new old stock.
Sadly due to council rates and declining sales they had to close. It was the last store/shop of its kind in a big capital city sadly.
Cheers from this Aussie living in NZ ????????????

  • It's weird how my mind always go "oh no, nope" as soon as I see dot inlays. That Sonex would look really cool even today with something fancier (but I get why it has them).

  • I believe series 7 tarbacks are in late 70’s RD standards, just not coil splittable.

  • No accounting for tastes. I thought that first guitar was really ugly. The shape, the colors… ugh. But anyway, I'm still waiting for the video to end. Come on, Trogly, I know there's more. Fool me once…

  • 10:10 — Just saw a Music Zoo video with Mark Agnesi showing off rare guitars. That mandolin thingy on the cover of this pamphlet was Orville Gibson’s first creation. 1894.

  • I really love tar backs. The most underrated Gibson pup imo. The sound I mean, not the terrible epoxy coating that prevents you from ever removing the pickup covers

  • OK well this episode may have ruined my life. Just got my 60s Standard in Oxblood, and now I find out there are 70s Artist cases in Oxblood, and I have to find one ;(( thanks a lot Trogly!

  • I didn't know anything about Charlie Starr ????or his band but man if I become a fan of him personally as he did his press interview for the guitars and they're beautiful guitars as well

  • You know, Austin, at first I was confused as to why those old Gibson pamphlets didn't look familiar. Then I remembered: I was in West Germany for most of the 70s, and during the early 70s I had yet to start playing at all, much less hanging around Gibson merchandise. Ah, youth …!

  • The Ultima with flame pattern on the freatboard reminds me of James Hetfield's Explorer.
