  • Donner use to have great cables Yeah they changed this year. My wife and I each purchased the Donner 124 DLP models and The 100 N 1 each which is a Strat the difference between it and the 152 which we own is the head stock is painted to match the guitar body the first one is a Gibson LP style. & 1 each a semi hollow body Telecaster style with 2 humbuckers . The bags were all decent here about 1/4" padding. & 2 Each DMT 100 Donner Metal guitars … AWESOME ???? PRE SALE FOR BLACK FRIDAY ABOUT 4 weeks or more ago. Could Not resist the DMT's came with a nice little bag like a Crown Royal Whisky bag ????. For capo picks etc .. under $800 including Tax total for 10 Guitars ???????????????? CAN'T BE BEAT I always jump on great deals… the guitar sounds more like the DST 400 .. Yes had issues recently with all the frests except the Telecasters.. Grunge plus dry fret boards. Any issues e-mail Donner.. they take care of it ..

  • Been looking at the Amazon guitars (I got the Tostar Jazzmaster copy) but didn't think to check eBay. Very cool.

  • It would be nice if we could see the whole guitar when you're playing it. How about checking the intonation with the harmonic at the 12th fret instead the open string. At least you're not wearing shorts.

  • Plays exactly the same notes as a Fender Custom Shop!
All the mods, upgrades…. Ain’t going to make you a better player!

Still better than a $300 guitar from the 80’s 90’s

  • Yah, I ran into an issue with Donner on flea bay. I saw the DMT-100 guitar when the coupons for this month first started. There were 2 coupons with November-Deals for 5 percent and TOPGIFTS for 20 percent. The price was 91 after coupons and before taxes. I did a "make an offer" to see if I could have a lower base price before the coupons applied by doing an offer of 100. Nothing in the coupon terms or flea bay terms said that the coupons would not apply if an offer was accepted. It had been a long time since I used flea bay and in the past when an offer was accepted the item was waiting in the cart for you to make a purchase. It wasn't automatically purchased for you. So Donner accepted my offer at 100 and did not apply the coupon. I was expecting the price to be around 80 or less with the coupons but I was charged 100. They did not contact me before accepting the offer to tell me that they wouldn't apply the coupon to the offer.

After the forced purchase was done and I noticed the coupon wasn't applied I then reached out to Donner asking them why the coupon wasn't applied. Donner said they don't have to apply the coupon for offers. So I ended up paying more than if I had just bought it at the 120 price with the coupon. I called flea bay directly and asked if they could help me. I spoke to 3 different reps including the supervisor of the coupon department. At least that is what she said she was. Everyone said the coupon should have applied but it was up to the seller to apply it. That I should contact the seller again and ask them to apply it. So I did and Donner refused. Called flea bay back asking what I can do and they said just return the package if Donner refuses to apply the coupon. I reached back to Donner to tell them that flea bay told me to return the package if the coupon wasn't applied to the order. They told me basically the do what I feel like and pound sand about the coupon. So I returned the guitar. I also noticed at this time they do auctions for this same guitar and those auctions typically end with a final price of 70 to 80 which was what I was expecting originally to buy this for. After the item was returned I went to bid on one of those auctions, but it seems Donner has banned me from buying anything from them from flea bay.

I also left a negative feedback for this awful scummy experience by Donner, but it was removed. Great. So leaving this info here.

Nice review video though of that guitar.

  • I have something mad about cheap guitars. I buyem, then mod the crap out of them. I would so grab one of these. PS when are you gonna teach Stanley to play guitar?

  • Interesting evaluation. Are you planning to do any upgrades on the guitar. How does it compare to a Glarry?

  • No one has an excuse for not knowing how to set up a guitar when there's probably over 50 channels on YouTube showing how..I would have loved to have the guitar knowledge online that there is now when I was learning 20 years ago!

  • What a deal!!!

Back in my day, retailers would have charged 200$-300$ for that guitar and it would be set up by a paid technician at the store.

I was that set up guy. ( 40 years ago)

Now, folks can buy a similar guitar for 100$ and take it to be set up which will probably run about 80$.

The biggest problem is that oftentimes folks just dont want to pay for that set up.

Trust me, back in the days, you got NO choice. And that set up cost was added in to the final price.( Whether folks knew it or not. Markup was 100%back then). Yep we paid 200$ and sold it for 400$.

That 50$-80$ was added right to the markup.

One reason an old Fender etc is great is that it has been set up, adjusted, re- adjusted multiple times.

Most inexpensive guitars are never brought up to their peak performance level because folks hate spending 80$ for a setup on a 150$ axe. And that is a shame.

  • The only donor guitar I own is the candy apple red one that came out on the first came out. And I got to tell you I monitored it the candy apple red body was a nicer candy apple red did my Fender candy apple red guitar put a black guard on it I put El Nico 5 pickups in it. I put a floating trim on it and put walking tuners on it and I think it plays better then my thunder and sounds better.

  • Jayce.. I was looking at my string supplies and I have some strings I can donate that are new in box I don't have need for currently but don't know if you can use them or not. I have some acoustic D addario .011-052, light gauge, some D addario EXL 115 11/49 mediums nickel wound, also have D addario 85/15 bronze EZ900 extra light gauge acoustic .010-.050. Finally, I have some D addario exl 120 9/42 nickel wound. EXL 120. I have quite a few of each, so let me know which, if any you need and a place to send them. You already have my e mail so let me know if that helps with some of these guitars with bad strings on arrival.

  • Sorry they aren't going to give you 200 dollars worth of accessories with a budget guitar.

  • Seems decent enough. Good packing is a must these days. FedEx and UPS can break anything. I had FedEx deliver me 2 Epiphone guitars (in hard cases, double boxed) from Sweetwater, which is 4 hours away from me. They broke the neck on one, and cracked the neck on another. The 3rd one arrived in a box that looked like it had been tumbled in a cement mixer, but miraculously, the guitar and case were undamaged.
