Looking for a new or second acoustic guitar to purchase?
Is your budget around the $250-$400 price range?
Well, Ibanez has their own acoustic guitar line called the “AEG Series”.
But in my opinion for around $300, I think you can buy a different brand that’s a better overall guitar…
And I’ll tell you why…

I'm buying one of these Ibanez acoustic electrics , but I hear ya about those god forsaken ridiculous Star Wars droid type names. .. I hate how they do that.
Thanks for the review everysingleguitar. I just tried one of these guitars at a music store. I loved how playable it was. I have a Yamaha Apx-600 which I love the sound of but I donāt find it all that easy to play. I prefer a guitar with an electric style neck with a small radius and a thin neck. The frets on the Yamaha are too tall. Today, I visited my local music store and tried a Ibanez AEG7M acoustic. It was made in China but was more comfortable for me to play. It was $420 Canadian plus tax. It looked to be a plywood top. I am wondering if you have reviewed a Ibanez like this but that has a better sound? Does Ibanez make a similar guitar with a solid top?
How do the rest of you like this model? Would you recommend it?
anybody have any opinions on if itās worth buying one of these for $150 came into a situation was possible but now Iām not sure if itās worth it or if I should keep looking at acoustic/ electric guitars.

I like mine:) cool guitar to get for 150$
Its because of the cut away.
Kid in Crossroads film is the dude who played the Karate in the original Karaoke Kid movie. Ralph Machobelly ????
My Harley is an FLSTN/I I get it that it's a weird name but if you're in the know, all of those numbers & letters mean something
man, if feels like you are making a review taking as a standpoint a guitar like a D-28 or a J-45. This is an affordable laminate guitar that isnāt supposed to fill a whole room with a big punch of volume and beautiful overtones. Thatās why you pay 3000 to 4000 for those guitars and you can get this ones for 300. It is made for a different purpose and for different type of consumer and it fits perfectly for what it is. Iād say it is a great guitar overall.
To toast a slim body electric acoustic without plugging it in is irresponsible.
Like your playing brother!
If youāre gonna review a piece of equipment it is worth doing a little research on it. Come on do your homework. Especially if youāre gonna rant. Make it worth your rant to know what youāre talking about. Over and over you say things like āI believeā āif Iām not mistakenā āIām not sureā Come on. Youāre killing your credibility. Steve Vai didnāt play an Ibanez on Crossroads. Look it up. AEG=Acoustic Electric Guitar. BK=Black. Iāll leave the rest for you to research. All in all itās not a bad review but put some more effort into it.
Do a takamine g Siri
This great guitar is amazing if you can find it for $100. Mine is 14 years old and itās my favorite POS guitar. I donāt have to worry about it at all.
I put an Ibanez soundhole cover on my AEG, and it seemed to scoop the highs and give it more depth oddly. I put it in to prevent feedback for playing live, and it surprised me at the difference for 7.97 on Amazon.
I give your review and presentation a D minus
i want a ibanez all star acoustic
should have got the ibanez v70ce acoustic its bigger and sound fuller i know this is 3 yrs old but ive had mine 8 years and still sounds good its little less bright now but its caused i wrapped it but still has good sound
KIND OF ABSURD / IDIOTIC FOR YOU TO STATE YOUR GOAL IS TO REVIEW EVERY SINGLE GUITAR EVER MADE .. ONE EXCELLENT REVIEW IS WORTH MORE THAN 100 POOR ONES.
QUALITY IS OF MORE VALUE THAN QUANTITY , WHEN IT COMES TO REVIEWING INSTRUMENTS.
Dude. If Martin is your sponser just say so.
Open up your eyes to reality and understand it's a decent guitar that needs a set up. It isn't a high end custom and you'd be a fool to expect it to be
Dumb Genius Review
I worry about your review. You seem to have a tendency towards US guitars. I think they are by and large overpriced. I do not play an Ibanez. The guitar sounded bright and melodic to me. All of these acoustic/electric guitars are made specifically for amplification. They are not pub session or studio guitars. I have a Taylor at the moment for acoustic and have 2 tele's which I built myself. I hate the dreadnought shape in guitars, mainly because they do not sit well when you are playing sitting or standing. I am going to change the Taylor for an Ibanez or Yamaha when I can get the dosh together. From Ireland.
When you have a shit load of guitars, these names which are basic codes for guitars are not only very useful but completely necessary. Acousto Electric Guitar BlacK and a number. If you have never seen a stratocaster before you would have no clue what it looked like from the name yet from this name you know almost exactly the guitar it is. Seems like a pretty weird thing to complain about to me.
Great video! Thank you so much for making and sharing! I really like the sound of the acoustic guitar! It's so beautiful!????
I've had it for about 15 years and the sound is too muffled; sounds like a bass guitar. It's also hard to press down on the strings and hard to play
Check out the song more than words. Identical type of guitar. It's just a different type of guitar design with a lacquer to protect the body from damage. They are also the most east style of guitars. You can also get a huge dreadnought acoustic or electro acoustic which is harder to play which sounds nice.
The is some confusion here. To clarify the guitar is an electro acoustic. It's famous for being very easy to play and famous for being very flexible being able to play live at gig. Think of it like more like an electric guitar. A good example is the song more than words or Friday night in San francisco album. You can also get an auditorium size electro acoustic which sounds great especially withour the black finish on it (it's added because it prevents damage when at gigs. I have a large electro acoustic, I have an electric guitar with 2 inputs so blends both sounds.
It's a good solid very flexible guitar. You should get an auditorium size electro acoustic. Ibanez are famous for being so easy to play. Yamaha are famous for being solid singer songwriters guitars which are cheap and bit harder to play fast.
Looks like an axe you don't put flatwounds on, even though it's amped. I only use heavy flatwounds, a mix of weight that Rich Severson recommends. And no pick. (I could use a break, really, you can't play well right off the bat, you need five minutes to warm up your fingers for the pressure needed to be clean) And maybe this guitar can't handle somewhat heavy strings.
Aeg50n, best guitar in my fleet. The 3000 dollar fender telecaster doesn't sound as good.
If you're going to review an acoustic electric guitar, its pretty important to play it as such. I know you said you dont play them electric, but its an important feature of this guitar. Then you gave it a low rating for tone. Overall a decent video, but the review is incomplete.
The first part of the number is the model, in this case AEG10. All the following numbers indicate the color, what wood it's made of, whether it has a cutaway, whether it has electronics, gloss or satin finish, and other things to differentiate a specific guitar. When someone asks you what you play, just say an Ibanez AEG10, we'll know what you mean. This isn't unique to Ibanez.
It's a great guitar for beginners, intermediate level players, and for those who want an acoustic/electric without breaking the bank. It's versatile enough for the price and is a nice knock about guitar.
Thanks for your honest appraisal.
No "auditorium" size shallow body guitar will sound as fully as a full-size dreadnaught. Apples to oranges.
Just saying, the Ibanez sounds as good as most guitars in that price range. It's hard to believe that they can make a guitar with all that goes in it and be able to sell it for 300.00!! I've been looking online at some of the Guitar Stores, and eBay and used guitars sell for the same price as new ones and I'm not talking about Taylor, Gibson's and Martin's.
what strings?
Any chance you could review the different electronics?
Per other reviews it appears the electronics are the most important part of electric guitars unlike true acoustics which depend on tone wood and strings.
paul gilbert is bucket head he wore the bucket to circumvent an argument he was having with his recording label over a contract as they wouldnt allow him to play music as paul gilbert
