Noob question. Is the fifth string low or high?
I've thought about getting one of these and modifying it. I have a set of emg pj5 pickups that would go well in it and a Gotoh bridge.
I reckon with a good set-up, the right strings and those parts this could be a decent workhorse.
I'm very interested in this bass I'm not a bass player primarily but I played the 4 string version today and it felt nice.. closest thing to it was an 1800$ Spector bass… can always swap the electronics
My strandberg was made in Indonesia and it's higher quality than both my Mexican EOB signature Strat, my American standard Strat, and my Gibson lea Paul standard… not saying it was cheap, but the QC is top notch and holds up to the USA made instruments that come with a premium price tag
Love Ibanez for looks, sound and playability. But the 5 string neck is just TOO thin.
This one for E to C tuning will be nice.

Need higher gauge string for the B. The Ibanez website says it comes with a .130 which proves why Ibanez isn't in the string business. You want a .148 for that B ideally. Another issue with the stock strings is that the other strings have much higher tension which is going to make the B sound out of sync.
Very good looking bass guitar
