IBANEZ SRMS625EX | TEST, UNBOXING and REVIEW

Unboxing, demoing and reviewing the Ibanez SRMS625EX!

I noticed that there were no proper reviews of this bass (to my knowledge) on YouTube, and so I wanted to make a video that properly demonstrates the capabilities of this beast!

I finally have a bass guitar for recording my own music! It’s an absolute keeper.

I have tried to be as insightful as possible and demonstrate a wide variety of tones. I think this is the best bass I’ve ever played in terms of playability. I’m not a bass player so don’t be expecting Victor Wooten style playing!! I’m a novice bass player at best.

  • I so very much wish they made a 4 string version of this bass. It reminds me a little bit of my 2 x black Zon Sonus basses but not the same tones.

  • Thank you for the detailed review and sharing your favorite settings. How was the factory setup, does the bass require comprehensive setup process or is it just ready to play out of the box?

  • Thanks for a great video! I'm thinking getting getting one of these, but I immediately got nervous when you mentioned the weird ringing frequency on the E string. I've had a similar problem with a previous bass, and it was extremely irritating. (You couldn't just hear it in the room, but on recordings as well!) So, my question is: Did you work out what was causing this unpleasant resonance, and did you manage to get rid of it? I'd love to know, because the bass sounds great otherwise and I'm just about to pull the trigger…

  • I've had that bass for a year now and I love it. Fact is i use it to play jazz and it's great for it, use it in passive mode for that.

  • Very good review! I really liked how you tested sounds DI clean and with the plugin.

  • Guitar player or not, you may have just sold me. Ive been on the fence between this and the BTB series (which is way more expensive) and i think the SRMS may be good enough for what i want. Thank you for doing a great demo!

  • Sounds amazing. Just grabbed an SR1305SB myself, but at some point I’m going to be grabbing one of their multi-scale options.

  • Thanks for the detailed review. I can't figure out which bass i want, this one is a strong contender. I wish the fan were a bit wider.

  • Thanks for reviewing Sean, I’m probably going to pickup this bass soon. Need something other than my Squier P bass for metal. The finish marking easily doesn’t bother me as it gives your bass character over time!

  • Remember in college when you used to pronounce Ibanez Ibanay! Hope you’re well congrats on the channel

  • Had mine for a few weeks now, and I’m glad to say I never had any weird harmonic issues on mine. Just set it up for drop F# and it’s playing great. Although I do agree the finish marks up easy. Argh.

  • Thanks for this nice, comprehensive and very serious review. I may buy this o.e or a similar one in the near future. I am still torn between this one and the BTB805MS from Ibanez as well, that is a bit more expensive…

  • Hey, really good and detailed Review. Finally someone who isnt slapping all the time. Thinking about buying this Bass. But i have a few questions about it… What about the battery Box? How is the quality, the cable and is it big enough for rechargeable batterys? Is the Input Jack Ok, or does it Look like its gonna get loose very soon? Can i use regular Long scale strings Like daddario XL 45-135 or does it need Special Strings? Are the Tuners good And let the Strings stay in tune after a few, Like 20 Minuten? And finally… Does it Hum in Stage conditions? Like the Hum with Lights, electronics and kinda stuff. Or in recording. Would be nice If you could answer me these questions. I know that you cant expect the highest quality at this price range, but it would be good to know if i get something durable and ready to Go, or If i need to make some changes and additional shilding and kinda stuff. Greetings from Germany.
