  • I felt the same way you did, I find the T-style guitars more comfortable, and more familiar. That could be because my first guitar was a T-style guitar. But being a huge Hendrix fan, and 2 dozen other S-style guitar players, I mostly play my Strat. I recarved the neck, as I have medium-sized hands but small-sized fingers, so I made it as close to a G&L 'Slim-C' profile I could, and I have been really loving it ever since. I like to have both, both are very versatile, the T-style body and the S-style body, you can play almost anything with either of them.

  • They are great guitars, I had a 50s sunburst one a few years ago that you featured on the channel but it had to go after it got dropped by the wife.

Picking up a new player 2 HSS today though to cure my Strat itch

  • Classic Vibe models are not bad…I own a Squier FSR Custom Tele Baritone..the only thing I'm not crazy about is the glossy neck. Much prefer satin.. I know it's possible to sand the neck but I'm not so sure I want to just in case I decide to sell it one day.

  • Interesting, I believe the older ones was better. I will stick with my Strat plus, and my Tokia 64 reissue. Good Vid John

  • Who's that look alike with the Strat, and what did he do with John?
Just joking, and I am very glad that you have come around to things "Stratospheric". ????

  • I don’t know if it’s all the shininess, all the lacquer but it looks cheap.
    This or a Jet?

  • This Strat sounds really good with overdrive especially. Clean sounds are great too which is the norm with Fenders/Squiers, but Strats usually get a bad rap with overdrive. This one sounds excellent.

  • Your CV 50s sounds so good thru the BLuG but then doesn't everything! I'm glad I'm not shopping for a Strat right now, too many options- Sire just same out with the awesome S5, there's the Jets, and the new Player IIs, the CVs and so much more, plus good used deals.

  • How does this guitar compare to the silver Jet Strat you reviewed 10 months ago John?

  • Very nice review of this Classic Vibe
Can you show us how you will change the trem springs ? My Classic Vibe has a stiff trem

  • As my uncle Rod would say “you wear it well” it suits you and will do a job. What’s not to like ????????‍♂️

  • TBH John that was a phenomenal tone that you got out of that. Really open and airy, but suitably heavy when it had to be…. think it's a keeper!

  • Has the world turned upside down? John likes Strats and after years of playing Epi Dots, LP’s and Strats, I play Teles and a Yamaha Revstar. Like they say, “Variety is the spice of life”. Oh, and just an observation, the neck pickup sounded a little tinny when cranked, but smoother when you brought the volume down. But that bridge pickup really does rock!

  • I love strats, les Pauls and telecasters.
I like all 3 in different ways but…
I always come back to the strat. It's just so damn comfortable to play and does most styles with a bit of tweaking ????

  • Nice in-depth review, John. I was disappointed with your 'first look' video, when you kept saying "well, it is what it is", implying that it was a poor imitation of the US Strat. So pleased you've started to come around (and I'm a recent convert, having bought CV 50 Strat and a CV 60 Tele after 40 years of only playing my Les Paul).

  • Ive just bought a classic vibe 70s telecaster and thought that fretboard was slightly rolled too

  • Great info about the strat John, you have it well setup and sorted. Really like your tee shirt too. ????????

  • For when only a Strat sound will do. I'm really liking both my Tease St-1 and 60s CV Squier strat for the same reason: quack!!

  • I have a MIM strat, you're definitely right about the fret sprout. Plus the 5 position switch is option overload for me. To use too a 3 position switch.

  • Looks and sounds right…… Nice one John! (Now…the question that comes to my mind…How do you like the Strat when compared to the PRS SE CE24?)

  • They use Tonerider pickups the Classics I believe and those readings are right for output. I have used them in ST builds. The Vibe ST is super.
