In EU zone this guitar is around 800 euro (840 USD aprox.) which makes the new standard series a completeley nonsense and non justificable model. Great video Jon, thank you!

Sounds much better then my 2002 "made in USA HSS
My kids got me a player2 plus sss for Christmas and I was pleasantly surprised at the build and tones , it's very warm so I roll the bass off slightly sometimes, it's a balancing act depending on which position your in on the pickups

I have this exact guitar! 6.9 pounds! The only issues I have is the screw in trem bar (come on Fender, a pop in bar, please?) and I have to tune it up frequently due to the non- locking tuners. Fortunately, I have a spare set of Fender locking tuners I plan to install. ????

@ John, great playing as always????. That rosewood fretboard looks amazing. I wanted a new player 2 strat in hss Rosewood 2 as well, however I was put off by Fender making the player 2 necks thinner in girth than the player 1 pau ferro, in short I'll be keeping the player 1 and won't be upgrading to a rosewood fretboard player 2 strat. Very disappointed
I have an old Fender Strat. We put in new pickups and pots. It plays better !!! Love the one you're playing. Good tones, Probably the player who can make most guitars soud good !!!

These new chambered Fenders sound really nice. Both the Tele and the Strat.
I don't think the alder comes chambered, only the hog and ash.
For me the best Stratocaster ever in terms of balance of quality and price. And Jon today can show how good it is. What a performance!!!! Thank you man!
