In Ear Monitors that actually work for Bass?!! Xvive U4 Review – Demo
Xvive Amazon Store: http://bitly.ws/tqUK
Let’s take a closer look at the Xvive U4 wireless in-ear monitor system and how it can help bass guitar players achieve the perfect sound. Unlike many in-ear monitors that don’t work well with bass, the Xvive U4 delivers high-quality, ultra-compact wireless sound with less than 5 ms of latency. With its reliable, solid RF connection over a range of 90 feet, you can roam free with your favorite earbuds, headphones or in-ear monitors.
The U4 system features high-resolution, 24-bit / 48 kHz audio, with a very wide and smooth frequency response between 20 Hz and 20 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio of 107 decibels, and more volume than you’ll ever need.
In addition to its impressive sound quality, the Xvive U4 is also incredibly affordable. It’s an excellent value that’ll get you there for under $200.

Hi Rodney
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Can you recommend mid price in ear monitors ???????? for bass. Thanks again.
Good balanced review, I recently bought one of these and am also very impressed, especially for the price! I play Roland electronic drums in church and with another Christian rock band. The drums really give this thing a workout, as there is a full range of frequencies to deal with. The U4 laps it up, and produces nice detailed and clear sound. My only real dislike is that's it's obviously a mono unit, so the output from my TD-50X module sounds lifeless in comparison to a full stereo out with wired headphones. Not a problem when playing live, but won't be using at home for practise.
Have just ordered the budget Debra UHF ST-102 wireless system for the same price (GBP 170) to have a play with at home, as finding the IEM cable annoying while sat at the drums!
Great review. I loved the comparison of the DI signal vs the U4 signal. That basically sold me on it, because I'm a huge tone snob. I have spent a lot of time and money on my tone. If I don't feel like I sound good, it's no fun to play. I recently started a project that is semi-pro. Since we're just starting out, we have $0 in the bank and need to get a whole sound system . . . including monitors . . . on the cheap. This seems like a great place to start. Thank you for the work you put into the video.
Thanks for the video, I think this is going to be my first purchase of the year. Going ampless has never been easier I think!
thanks! im a singer and a drummer. if i wanted to use the xvive to hear myself sing/the backing track for one song, would i be able to go to the drums in the middle of a set to sing/hear the backing track while playing drums with this to?? or would i need to take my in ears out of the reciever and plug them into the mixer by the drums?
I know how important comments are on you-tube! Great to see you looking so healthy, and great info!
I’ve brought these before seeing your review and have to completely agree. This system is perfect and my bass (Fender PBass) sounds fantastic.
Great video, as always. thanks Rodney!!!!
Super informative video as always, thanks for the great content Rodney ????
YOU THE MAN Rodney
Thank You so much! Any recommendations on in-ear headphones? You know, what holds me back is the fact that I do have to go to a specialist that fills my ears with that utterly unconvenient substance in order to build me perfectly sized headphones for my ears. I just wanna buy something stock that really works. Hope You´ re doing fine under the circumstances. It is so good to see You! Greetings from Germany!
Great to see you! Hope you're doing great!
Curious what your thoughts are on the 6 channels and if that would be good enough for shows or heaven forbid a festival? Do you feel like it's going to experience interference? A 5.8Ghz version would be super cool. Great to know they actually sound good. I'll need to grab something soon myself. Cheers Rodney! Chat soon
Hey Rodney, great to see you more colorful now than in the previous months! Quick question: I’m interested to know what’s your take on 6×10 cabs and which bass heads you’d personally combo them up with? Thanks!
Thank you for the video I am definitely going to check them out and you look good brother
Was talking with my guitarist about getting in ears after the last gig. I'm sick of not being able to hear myself on stage. It happens waaaay too much. Just wondering what headphones to get with this
Really good to see you getting back in it !
Been using Kimafun IEMs I got off Amazon in 2020 with covid stimulus money (yay), and while the bass itself kinda sounds like ass through it, it is fairly audible if you have good IEM earbuds. Monitor mixes tend to be (and should be) vocal-heavy compared to the main mix, and while what you're saying at 6:30–7:30 has merit, honestly I don't need my monitor mix to sound like the main. I need drums and vocals prominent, and everything else audible but not necessarily forward. I literally only have to feel my bass through my cab on stage (which is turned down to maybe 70dB or so) to know where I am in the mix.
XVive are great from what I've seen, I haven't seen them IRL, but Kimafun should also be a viable option at a slightly lower price point.
If you had an affiliate link, I'd consider it if my Kimafun set ever shits the bed.
Great seeing you back at it Rod. I've been a bit skeptical of the Xvive stuff when it first came out, but it seems that everybody in that "budget" market is really stepping up and giving the legacy brands a real run for the money.
Looking good by the way and so happy you havent had to shave your head like a whole slew of us old timers gritting my teeth… full heads of hair… him and Tim Starace still have full heads of hair… grumble, grumble…
You’re looking much better than your video 10 months ago, great to see ????????
It's great to see you Brother! You're looking svelt.
These are the ones I landed upon after spending way too much on other rack units and body packs.
The bass response is for real and I have zero complaints. I run mine off an aux and run an XLR cable so it's nearby.
I'd say a near perfect solution for gigs.
Now if only instrument wireless was as good and affordable…. ????
I just take my own wedge with me when I play live,
Great to have you back again, RMcG. Thanks for the great review.
Man you came up with a beauty. Definitely have the stage issues as far as space and cabinet placements. I’m definitely following this deal. And yes we’re watching the channel ???? ????
Kudos Rodney!
I'm so glad to see you, brother. I instantly sent this to my bassist because that signal sounds amazing. Much love, brotha.
hey glad to see you back mate!! stay strong!
Glad to see you're looking well! Another fantastic video as always dude! Thanks muchly!
It is amazing that this unit is so inexpensive yet out performed much more expensive ones you have used. Maybe Xvive is the first to have a bassist in on the design of an in ear monitor.
It is good to see you back and looking well.
I’d love to know what headphones or earbuds you recommend for bass.
Rodney! We missed you! Hope you re doing better
I wanted to ask if we will get a juicy review of the Frank Bello Street driver 48 Sansamp
