It's a Squire with a half-decent pick-up. Of course it's okay to play. So what? It was originally designed for pre-teen girls. Now all these dumb-arsed Men think they have to own one. Frickin' ridiculous. Grow up, Boys. You're embarrassing yourselves.

The serial number starting with CY indicates this is the factory that makes the Affinity series guitars as well as the J Mascis Jazzmaster. I dont this should be an issue though – I personally have really good Squire guitars from this factory (especially the J Mascis, but I really like the neck that my Affinity Jazzmaster had too).
I hope they do other collabs. I like this guitar but not enough to buy. Thanks for the video ????❤
I picked up one of these. I own a 1989 Fender American Strat that I've had since then — and I had low expectations — but I was surprised at how good the new Hello Kitty Squier actually is. I love it! The pickup leads to really musical distortion. I appreciate the detail and honesty of this review. The truss rod thing is weird, mine hasn't done that yet. But again, kudos to you for including all of that and not dumbing down the review. Great video.

Here's my personal opinion on this guitar:
At the end of the day, it's a bare-bones Chinese Squier made on a CNC from basic woods with only one pickup, and it sounds like any other Squier. It's only realistically worth $200.00 tops. But because it's "unique" and has somewhat of a following, people are willing to pay more, so Fender/Squier charges more.
That's weird that you have the guitar in tune with all the tuning keys perfectly aligned and facing forward.
I picked this up at Guitar Center yesterday and the quality control in this model is surprisingly good.

Luthier tip: Strings make a pinging noise when theyre stuck in the nut. The string retainer has nothing to grab with unwound strings so don't worry about the retainer.

I want one, just for next time the rhythm guitarist in my metal band shows up with a dead battery in his guitar. Last time, I made him play the Shawn Mendez Musicmaster. He was so unhappy, lol. Do I have better guitars? Absolutely. Do I have 9v batteries? Also, absolutely…. Does the Shawn Mendez Musicmaster Djent? Nope. Not even a little. Show up with a dead guitar, you get to play something from the "Douche Collection".. at least I didn't make him play the Darth Vader Kid Size Peavey.
