Is This The GREATEST Guitar Solo Of The 90’s? – (Everything I Do) I Do It For You
The song (Everything I Do) I Do It For You by Bryan Adams, is a HUGE song. It was number 1 for months when it came out. Not only is it a great song, it has a truly epic guitar solo played by keith Scott. I’m going on record in saying that it’s the greatest guitar solo of the 90’s! What do you think?

Mike has been playing the guitar since he was 12 years old, and from that first moment his love affair with music and the instrument began. Fresh out of school at the age of 16 he attended the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford and completed a year-long Diploma course.
After finishing the ACM his life as a full time musician began, playing in numerous bands and touring up and down the country playing iconic venues such asThe Shepherds Bush Empire, The Astoria, The Underworld and London’s Jazz Café. He’s also been fortunate enough to support industry legends Paul Weller, Blondie and Katie Melua.
Mike’s session work has led to his working on a variety of projects – from performing with stars such as Ricky Wilson and Diana Vickers, to appearing in many TV shows and adverts. Mike loves being on stage performing, but is equally at home recording in a studio – where he has worked with Alex Von Soos (All Saints, Seal, Atomic Kitten), Mike Horner (The Prodigy, Shakira, Bloc Party), and Mike Chapman (Blondie, Suzi Quatro)

oasis solo "live forever"
I'm ashamed to admit I never heard of Keith. However, I've always loved the guitar playing in Bryan's tunes so I will absolutely be looking into him more. Funny that this video appeared on my suggestions today as I've been thinking a lot recently about guitar solos. We all love to play guitar but at what point does a guitar solo become needless fret wankery and just a "look what I can do" exercise? Not everyone at a gig is going to be a musician and long solos are just going to bore people. I've been thinking of this loads lately and I'm guilty of over playing myself. This is a great video! What's your thoughts Mike? At what point does the solo become just mindless noodling?
I haven’t heard of Keith Scott but definitely need to pay attention to that
Yes definitely Keith Scott. Been going to Bryan gigs since early 80s. Always a great gig. I agree Keith's not mentioned enough.
Everyone remembers Grunge from 1991, but this was the biggest selling single and spent the longest time at/near the top of the charts.
Best solos ever were Comfortably Knumb, Stairway to Heaven and Eruption..90s music stunk..
Remembrance Day is a very clutch Bryan Adams track.
No it's not
Mike, I’d love for you to do a deep dive on the Carpenters song: Goodbye to Love. It’s got two fantastic solos in it… the outro solo is especially magnificent. But it sits in a love ballad where you wouldn’t necessarily put such a solo… in fact, they got hate mail for trying to put an electric guitar solo in that song. But wow, to this day I find it stunning. A 30 minute deep dive video would be welcomed!!! If you’re so inclined anyway. 🙂 PS – if per chance it's a song you don't know or know we'll, a reaction video would be very welcomed. I'd love to hear your take!!
I agree. I think Bryan Adams is overlooked and left off of too many lists.
Yes it is! You never forget it and you can hear the first seconds in your brain without the need to hear the cd or mp3…
Beautiful solo, but my favorite 90s solo is maybe in Blaze of glory, played by Jeff Beck
I have heard from many people in the business that Keith was a big Gilmour fan, and I think that’s clear.
Mike this is fabulous! By the way, you're not old, in 1991 you just made me realize (damn you!), I was 14 years into my (non-music) career ????, music/guitar just my avocation…so the 60's, 70's and some 80's was more my bag…. but you're not wrong here, great song and solo! Speaking of the 80s (and 90s), I remarked on another video "The Devil's On My Side" you did that, it struck me you were really putting out some Chris Rea vibe (pace, beat, lyrical sensibility, etc) – don't know if you saw that, but wonder what you think?
To be fair, purely in terms of rock and pop in the 90’s, there’s not an AWFUL lot to compare it too ….
Will was fantastically sympathetic to the song , great tone as always fella
Keith along with Sambora, played for the song!! Both an inspiration…keeping it simple but affective ????????
You trolling us man? Not April yet…I checked just to be sure. ????
Wasn’t a fan of Bryan Adam’s but I agree the solo in that one is perfect.
Bryan Adams had Keith Scott on a pretty tight leash in most songs. We never really heard Keith put in that killer solo he was well capable of. This solo was pretty good though.
Haha! I should work on this one. ????
