  • Sounds like a Sting Ray bass (played by the pickup on the pizz parts. on Diggin' You, not a Jazz. Listen to the thump and pluck… Sting Ray.

  • "I'm Diggin You (Like An Old Soul Record)," the bass was actually played by David Gamson

  • The first songs sounds like a Stingray, the slapped notes gave it away 🙂

  • Recently I was in a Pawn shop I saw " orange " Amplifiers and such.. are they any good? I didnt see what models they were or anything though. I see them here in this video so i don't imagine they're junk.

  • Scott… Can you do some videos showing how wood can impact sound? Different body, neck, and fret board woods? Combinations. Price points?

  • Me’Shell is incredible.

  • Sup guys, nice to see you guys keep pumping out videos. Years have gone by and need to learn some new types of tricks maybe. I feel stuck in some type of scale I created out of necessity, some progression that is like major pentatonic, i guess mostly. It's just that it works for so much of what I play lately, you know it's just like a pattern I am stuck inside it. Feels good and bad, you know. Bad because it feels like some cheating and like, too repetitive in my mind. Bass is repetitive, isn't it though ?.

I am kind of perplexed now, what to do…Jazz, I must learn Jazz and Classical music. I just want a band now, get tight with a drummer so there's no lapses so we rehearse and we practice that, I am ready to work with a drummer now, in case anyone is a drummer.

Don't care what music you play, long as it's good music I can swing whatever probably. I am mostly rock, blues funk and soul oriented, I started with just rock. The other music helped me learn a lot of things besides rock, it's just helps to play different genres.

Earlier I was playing Kim Wilde, she's just really hot…back in the 1980's. People forgot how much of a hot unicorn she was, look at her stage presence omg she's really good. Never noticed her much before, but I knew her music and eat your heart out everyone else, but she's the hottest live performer I have ever seen. She has so much confidence it's like ridiculous, you guys are like uhhh…not my type I am into Kim Kardashian…why ?. Kim Wilde > Kim Kardashian and it's not…close so wdym ?.

She's like Marilyn Monroe or something like that, I kind of forgot about her. She should be mentioned among live performers more often just for being smoking hot with charisma, she was good. Must learn to play Dua Lipa, lol great video. Dua has tons of charisma too, another good performer and her music is good.

  • Scott's kinda right about "bass albums". I find them to sometimes be a turn-off.

There's a current 2-bass, no guitar, I guess you could call them instrumental metal band, The Omnific. And as much as I love some of the stuff that they do, every track… despite having 2 basses… manages to somehow sound so thin. Like, the complexity and skill of the 2 lads, I should be a fan, but I find it very unappealing to listen to.

  • Me’Shell live intro to the song you showed is actually Db Waltz by Weather Report! Those days she was playing a Gibson bass.
